TNA no longer allowing use of excessive blood or blading

Excessive blood is no longer permitted in TNA.
PWInsider reports that TNA informed the locker room on Friday during a talent meeting that going forward, excessive blood and blading would no longer be allowed. The dog collar match set to take place on next week’s Impact between Eric Young and Steve Maclin will be the last match to allow blood.
Bryan Alvarez has confirmed TNA’s report, saying that they are “taking a break from the blade.”
According to the report, something like a bloody nose or mouth would be allowed, being noted that sometimes blood can happen as a result of contact in the ring. The decision was made due to protect the health of the talents as well as keeping advertisers in mind.
WWE banned the use of excessive blood back in 2008 and generally that rule has been followed. However, blood has made a return in certain segments and matches under Triple H’s run as chief content officer, notably during Cody Rhodes’ feud with The Rock last year and a recent Hell in a Cell match between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk.
AEW has no such rule involving blood, having been used both on television and pay-per-views.
