Super X-Cup winner crowned at Impact Genesis

Ace Austin won the Super X Cup tournament tonight during the Impact Plus Genesis event.

Austin defeated Blake Christian in the finals after a back and forth match. The finish had both men trading strikes in the ring until Austin dropped Christian with a second Fold to pick up the win. Austin had defeated Suicide and Cousin Jake to advance to the finals, while Christian defeated KC Navarro and Crazzy Steve.

In non-tournament matches that took place on tonight’s show, Jordynne Grace defeated Jazz, and Willie Mack defeated Moose in an I Quit match after Impact World champion Rich Swann said he’d put his title on the line if Moose spared a beaten Mack from further assault.

Impact previously held the Super X Cup in 2003 and 2005. They also held one in 2017 under the Global Force Wrestling banner. Chris Sabin, Samoa Joe, and Dezmond Xavier are previous winners of the tournament.

The company will hold their next big event on January 16 with the Hard to Kill pay-per-view. In the main event,  Kenny Omega will team with Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows to take on Rich Swann and The Motor City Machine Guns.
