Lance Storm joining Impact Wrestling in producer/coach role

Former WWE, WCW and ECW star Lance Storm will return to the world of wrestling as he revealed on Friday’s Figure Four Daily that he has taken a producer/coach position with Impact Wrestling.

He will begin on the road with their upcoming No Surrender/TV taping weekend in mid-February in New Orleans, Louisiana, and will also run their one-day Gut Check seminar in March as part of the Arnold Classic.

Storm briefly worked in a similar role with Impact as recently as early-2019 before he signed as a producer for WWE in November 2019. He remained in the role until April 2020 when he and many other producers were furloughed due to the pandemic shutting down touring.

He called the move “a chance to make the decision I should have made two years ago” when he chose to take the WWE role over Impact due to their “very eager, good offer.” He and his wife liked the security of the WWE role “which is ironic considering it ended up being a six month gig.”

“I enjoyed the two tapings that I did (in Impact). I liked the atmosphere and people and I have always gotten along with Scott (D’Amore). I have known him for a long time, longer than he’d like to admit. I’m looking forward to it,” he said.

Storm said he will not be wrestling and contributing to booking ideas is not part of his current role, but that D’Amore would likely be willing to hear him out on an idea or two if he had one.

He will still do his weekly podcast with Bryan Alvarez on this site with it likely moving to Tuesdays due to him needing to fly out once a month for Impact tapings.

The aforementioned Gut Check seminar is designed to help the company identify and find new talent. The winner of the day will be awarded a developmental deal.
