Joe Hendry still has ‘a while’ left on TNA contract

Joe Hendry still has “a while” left on his TNA Wrestling contract.

Amid his recent rise in popularity, Hendry appeared as a guest on Talk is Jericho. During the interview, he addressed his contract status and goals for the future. Hendry mentioned wanting to face John Cena before Cena wraps up his in-ring career. Though Hendry is under contract with TNA, he believes the WWE-TNA working relationship makes anything possible.

“We’ve got a while,” Hendry said about his TNA deal. “But because of the working relationship, I really feel like anything is possible.”

Hendry said TNA management has always been supportive and willing to work with him on any opportunities.

Cena has announced a retirement tour that will span from January to December 2025. Though a Cena vs. Hendry match may seem unlikely right now, Hendry said he really thinks he’ll wrestle Cena in the next year. For it to happen, Hendry knows he has to put himself on Cena’s radar.

“I really, with my whole heart, 100 percent believe that’s going to happen,” Hendry said. “And I don’t just think it’s like the universe is going to give it to me. It’s my job to make that the most compelling story possible for John Cena.”

Hendry has made multiple NXT appearances as part of TNA’s partnership with WWE. There was a backstage segment this week where Hendry said he likes it in NXT and will be sticking around.

At Slammiversary this Saturday, Hendry is challenging for the TNA World Championship in a six-way elimination match. Moose is defending his title against Hendry, Nic Nemeth, Josh Alexander, Frankie Kazarian, and Steve Maclin.
