Sydal hit a knee strike and followed up with the shooting star press to get the win in a really good match.

After it was over, Davey Richards and Angelina Love ran out and attacked Edwards and Alisha as they were leaving. Richards injured Edwards’ knee, giving a reason for Edwards to take time off for a legit surgery.

He said nothing will stop him from winning the Impact World Heavyweight Championship at Slammiversary, not even James Storm.

– J.B. continued to annoy Mathews and the crowd chanted “Free J.B.”

GFW World Champion Magnus defeated Matt Morgan to retain his title

Morgan controlled the match like a Goliath until he missed the Carbon Footprint and Magnus clipped his leg to take over. Magnus proceeded to work over Morgan’s leg. Morgan hit the Carbon Footprint but severely hurt his leg in the process. Magnus used a low blow behind the ref’s back and followed up with an elbow off the top to retain the title.

Kongo Kong (w/ Laurel Van Ness) defeated William Weaks

Kong destroyed Weaks by hitting multiple chokeslams. Kong hit the cannonball in the corner and a splash off the top to pick up the win. After the match, Braxton Sutter and Allie came out. Sutter and Kong brawled until Kong escaped.

– They recapped Sonjay Dutt’s nasty eye injury from two weeks ago. Dutt blamed Low Ki for the injury. He promised to win the X Division title for the first time, though Low Ki doubted Dutt is good enough to accomplish that.

Alberto El Patron defeated Eli Drake (w/ Tyrus)

Drake tried to leave, but El Patron brought him back to the ring. Tyrus pulled El Patron off the apron and the referee threw him out of the match. Drake took over and wore down El Patron.

El Patron made a brief comeback but missed a dropkick and went through the ropes to the floor. El Patron attempted the double foot stomp, but Drake thwarted his plans and pulled him off the top. Drake hit a moonsault for a close near fall. El Patron made a comeback and hit the double stomp to win the match.
