Impact Wrestling announces Slammiversary pay-per-view for June 19

Impact Wrestling announced the date and location for their next pay-per-view event, Slammiversary.

The company will return to pay-per-view on June 19 for Slammiversary, which will celebrate 20 years of Impact Wrestling, dating back to the first NWA-TNA pay-per-view event that was held on that very day in 2002. It will be held in Nashville, Tennessee. A specific venue has not been announced. Tickets for the show will be put on sale this coming Friday on Impact Wrestling’s website.

Starting out as NWA Total Nonstop Action, the company held their first pay-per-view event on June 19, 2002, with Ken Shamrock winning the vacant NWA World Heavyweight Championship in the main event. TNA dropped the NWA branding in 2004, and later renamed themselves Impact Wrestling in 2017.

Top matches from last year’s Slammiversary include Kenny Omega defeating Sami Callihan to retain the Impact World Championship and Deonna Purrazzo defeating Thunder Rosa to retain the Impact Knockouts title.
