COUNTDOWN TO No Surrender

X Division Champion Trey Miguel defeated John Skyler in a non-title match

This was Trey Miguel’s return after taking some time off to work on injuries and personal family issues.

Match saw Skyler cut off Miguel early on, but Miguel would make a comeback and end up winning with a Meteora. This was mostly a showcase return for Miguel.

Gia Miller interviewed Team Impact about their match tonight. Everyone just hyped each other and brought up that Maclin is not exactly their friend, but they trust he will fight for Impact.

Havok (with Rosemary) defeated Tenille Dashwood (with The Influence)

This is also Dashwood’s return after missing out on the last set of tapings. The Influence have been feuding with the IInspiration for the tag team titles, but that match has been postponed since Hard To Kill.

Match saw Havok be a powerhouse over Dashwood, but the latter kept getting the upper hand thanks to Rayne and Kaleb helping her out outside the ring with distractions. Havok eventually made a comeback, but it was the distraction after the IInspiration called Kaleb on the phone, that allowed for Havok to hit the piledriver on Dashwood for the win.

Jake Something defeated Chris Bey, Ace Austin (with Madman Fulton), & “Speedball” Mike Bailey to become X Division number one contender

The winner of this match gets a future shot for the X Division Championship, currently held by Trey Miguel. Leading up to this match, Austin has been trying to recruit Bailey to join him, so prior to the match starting, Bailey and Austin did shake hands, teasing an alliance.

Match started with Something going wild over everyone, he took down Bey, tossed out Bailey the hard way, and hit a huge dive on everyone. It would be Austin who would finally cut him off with a springboard spin kick and a foot stomp DDT for a two count.

Austin got a couple more pins on Something, but as the latter started to make a comeback, Bey came back into the match and it was now him, who took everyone down, ending with a huge tope con giro where he overpassed Bailey and landed flat on his rear.

Bailey followed the action with an Asai moonsault, taking everyone out. He went for Ultima Weapon on Austin, but Something blocked him, powerbombed him, set him up for a HIGH kick by Bey, but afterwards, Bey also took out Something with a Poinsonrana.

Bey hit a big plancha on Austin, but the pin got broken up by an SSP from Bailey. Something hit the corner spear on Bailey, but Austin blocked the Void slam, and instead Austin and Bailey hit a double superkick.

Bey hit an Art of Finesse on Bailey, but Austin saved the pin. Austin took out Bey mid springboard, but when he went for the Fold on Something, Something caught him, turned it into the Void, and got the pin. Fantastic opener.

– Eric Young cut a promo about being the best all-round professional wrestler the business has ever seen and is willing to go far to defend that reputation. He asks to see if White has what it takes to defend what he believes in.

JONAH defeated Black Taurus (with Crazzy Steve)

Decay has been targeting JONAH after the latter kept calling himself a monster, while the real monsters are Decay. JONAH already defeated Crazzy Steve a couple of weeks ago, but now he takes on the big man of the team.

JONAH has a small size advantage on Taurus, but Taurus definitely had the speed and agility advantage on JONAH, managing to use some of his lucha skills to dodge around JONAH.

The match spilled to the floor early on and Taurus managed to post JONAH and take him down with a tope con giro and a tornillo.

Back in the ring, JONAH once again used his power to block Taurus, military pressed him right into the top turnbuckle and a second to the middle of the ring. JONAH kept working over Taurus’ back, with small comeback attempts by Taurus, but nothing stuck until Taurus landed a reverse Slingshot and a good looking crucifix bomb for a near fall.

JONAH and Taurus traded strikes and body blocks, but at the end, Taurus connected with a corner 619 and a top rope twisting senton for a near fall. Taurus went for a Frankensteiner, but JONAH dodged, pressed Taurus off, and caught him with a second top Thesz Press and a powerbomb for a two count. One clothesline and the Tsunami later, JONAH got the win. Good hoss fight, Taurus is so underrated.

– Miller interviewed Jake Something. She asked him if he thought he had what it took to defeat Trey Miguel. Something said that the current X Division is one of the best rosters ever and he just defeated three of those men.

Trey Miguel walked up and said he had no plans on losing the title. Ace Austin also walked up and messed around with both Something and Miguel, so Miguel asked for a tag match between himself and Something vs Austin and Fulton.

“Switchblade” Jay White defeated Eric Young

Due to the alliance between the Good Brothers and Violent By Design, and the ongoing feud for the tag titles, Jay White and Eric Young ended up targeting each other, as White claims that EY’s VBD team is just a bush league copy of the Bullet Club, but EY is set to show that he is the real leader of the industry.

Match started with an intense back and forth exchange of shoulder tackles and chops, that ended when White finally dropped EY with a backdrop and tossed him to the floor.

White went after EY’s back on the apron, but back in the ring, EY was able to reverse a whip and send White shoulder first into the turnbuckle. White retaliated with a desperation DDT to get some space.

White hit a twisting suplex for a near fall, but couldn’t follow up with the Bladerunner. EY came back with a DDT, a couple of clotheslines, and a high angle DVD for a near fall. Both men reached a stalemate at this point, which could only be followed with a chop exchange. EY got the better of the exchange, but when he went for the top rope, White cut him off before EY could capitalize. Nonetheless, EY dropped White and hit the elbow for a two count.

White hit an Uranage for a two count. Followed with a Saito suplex and an ugly flatliner on the apron. White went for an apron German, but EY blocked, so instead, both men traded eye rakes. The chaos gave EY the opening to hit White with a piledriver.

EY went for the piledriver, but White rolled him up for a near fall. EY attempted again, but White turned it into the half-and-half suplex and the Bladerunner for the win. Great match, surprisingly competitive.

– Backstage, Ace Austin asked Mike Bailey to tag with him next week against Miguel and Something. Bailey rejected the idea and said that he and Fulton were a better tag team anyway. Austin tried to start some heat between Bailey and Miguel, claiming the latter had been talking behind Bailey’s back. Bailey ended up accepting Austin’s proposal.

ROH Women’s World Champion Deonna Purrazzo defeated Miranda Alize to retain the title

Deonna Purrazzo has made an open challenge for either of her championships. In this case, Miranda Alize accepted the challenge and asked for a shot at the ROH Women’s World title.

Alize and Purrazzo opened the match with some grappling, with both women trading momentum, but as they went on, Alize started getting more and more offense on Purrazzo, allowing Alize to go into a lucha approach that completely caught Purrazzo off her game and running to the floor. Alize followed with a dive for an early two count.

Back in the ring, Purrazzo caught Alize with a big boot and once down, Purrazzo started to target Alize’s neck and head.

Using her speed and lucha advantage, Alize made several comebacks, always managing to bring Purrazzo down with headscissors, but she was too hurt to capitalize.

Both women traded strikes until Alize dropped Purrazzo with a running knee for a two count. Purrazzo came back with a suplex, but when she went for Queen’s Gambit, Alize blocked, hit a knee, locked in the Miranda Rights. Purrazzo rolled Alize over, locked in the Venus the Milo, and immediately tapped out Alize. Another great match, both women had really strong energy.

– Miller interviewed Chapel Hart about being there and supporting Mickie James, who walked up to them. Chelsea Green approached them too. James offered Green another shot down the line once she’s done with Steelz.

Impact Digital Media Champion Matt Cardona defeated Jordynne Grace by DQ to retain the title

A couple of weeks ago, Cardona won the DM championship after turning heel and using a chair on Grace in order to win the title. Cardona claims that this title is rightfully his since he was the original Internet Champion. Grace gets her rematch and now knows she can’t trust Cardona to play clean.

Cardona offered a handshake to start the match, but Grace instead went after him with strikes and got an early small package after countering a suplex from Cardona. Grace attempted a sleeper on Cardona and managed to bring him down to his knees, followed by a back fist and a suplexed Cardona from his knees. Cardona tried to walk out of the match, but Grace brought him back the hard way.

Back in the ring, Cardona hid behind the referee to get a cheap shop and slam Grace into the corner to finally cut off her momentum. Cardona worked over Grace with constant slams and cheap shots.

Grace came back with an O’Connor roll and a sliding lariat. She followed with a big spinebuster for a near fall. Cardona took down Grace with a dropkick and a couple of re-boots, but couldn’t keep Grace down for the pin. He went for Radio Silence, but Grace blocked, hammered down Cardona, hit the running double knees and the sliding elbow, sending Cardona down to the floor.

Cardona tried to block the dive with a chair like the first match, but instead, Grace kicked the chair on to Cardona. Grace went to use the chair, but the referee took it away and her emotions allowed Cardona to take her down once again. Now it was Cardona who had the chair, but after the referee didn’t do anything, Grace low blowed Cardona and got herself DQ’d.

After the match, Grace used the chair on Cardona’s back.

– Gia Miller interviewed Tasha Steelz about her upcoming match. Steelz said that she’s always been confident and tonight is the last night that James gets to call herself a champion.

Suddenly, they were interrupted by someone who screamed for help after finding Eddie Edwards taken out.

Impact World Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) defeated Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) to retain the titles

This is a bit of a dream match for Bullet Club followers, two generations of Bullet Club teams and IWGP Champions facing off for the first time. Not much story between them while on Impact other than the Guerrillas wanting to get Impact gold.

Tama Tonga and Anderson started the match and it was heated, Tonga went right after him with strikes from corner to corner. Tonga landed one splash before Anderson ran to the floor, where both teams started brawling around the ring.

Back in the ring, Anderson and Tonga kept exchanging slaps and forearms, but again, it was Tama Tonga who ended on top after a running clothesline. Loa finally tagged in for some double team moves and more work over Anderson, who finally managed to tag out after the referee distracted Loa and Anderson raked his eyes.

Loa and Gallows had a hoss exchange with strikes and whips. Tama Tonga tagged in, but he was easily overpowered by Gallows and for the first time in the match, the Good Brothers were in control of the match.

After some minutes of the Brothers in control, Loa got the hot tag and turned things around and started chasing the finishing double team, but Gallows was there to break the pin. Anderson got a near fall himself with a neckbreaker.

Brothers hit an assisted neckbreaker for a second near fall, but now they went for the Magic Killer, only to have Tama Tonga counter it and open Gallows for a spear, who then took a Gun Stun by Anderson, only to take a Gun Stun from Tama Tonga.

Tama Tonga dropped Anderson with a rolling thunder and a plancha, but only got a two count.

At the end, there was some miscommunication, when Chris Bey came down and distracted the referee, but instead distracted Loa, who ate a chokeslam by Gallows. Suddenly, Jay White hit the Bladerunner on Tama Tonga, set up the Magic Killer by the Brothers, and Anderson retains.

After the match, Jay White, Bey, and the Good Brothers all TooSweet together over Tama Tonga’s body. Interesting development.

Knockouts Champion Mickie James defeated Tasha Steelz (with Savannah Evans)

Tasha Steelz won the first ever Knockouts Ultimate X match to earn this shot for the Knockouts championship against Mickie James. Ever since, they’ve had a rivalry where Savannah Evans and Chelsea Green would end up getting involved.

This started heated with a lock up that spilled to the floor without breaking. Back in the ring, they got into a test of strength where both women traded momentum, but ended with James bringing down Steelz for a running kick. Steelz came back with chops and dropkicked James to the floor.

They brawled in the floor where James dropped Steelz with a neckbreaker, but Evans interfered posting James while the referee was distracted with Steelz.

Back in the ring, Steelz has the upper hand, but James still tried to fight back and got some offense in before Steelz once again dropped her with a kick. James came back with strikes and what I failed to see if it was a bite or a kiss. She ‘low blowed’ Steelz and after a couple of clotheslines, James had Steelz down for the top rope Thesz press for a two count.

James took out Evans on the apron, but the distraction gave Steelz the opening for a cutter. Chelsea Green ran down and brawled with Evans.

Both women teased their signature moves, but after some back and forth O’Connor roll attempts, James got a clutch on Steelz and got the win. Good match, but it should had been longer with a better finish.

– Backstage, Rhino, Maclin, and Sabin got interviewed about missing Edwards. Maclin said that they were going to go after HNM, but Rhino now had problems believing with Maclin. Swann said that Edwards wasn’t cleared to wrestle, but Willie Mack was taking his place.

Impact World Champion Moose defeated W. Morrissey to retain the title

At Hard To Kill, Moose retained his Impact World title, but in the process, he was pinned for 10 seconds by Morrissey, but unfortunately for him, there was no referee to count such a pin. Ever since, Morrissey has been out to get Moose, but had to deal with Brian Myers, who stood between Morrissey and Moose, as a favor to Moose.

Brian Myers joined commentary for this match.

Match started with shoulder tackles and into a Frye-Takayama exchange, which could only escalate to more clotheslines until both men went down. Suddenly, Moose landed an early two surprise Lights Out, but Morrissey reacted by rolling out of the ring to save himself.

Back in the ring, Moose went for a third, but Morrissey dodged and landed a big boot and a BQE, which forced Moose to roll out. Morrissey beat up Moose outside the ring, whipping him to the guardrail over and over. Moose responde by hitting an Uranage through the time keeper’s table, only to pick him up and posting him. Morrissey recovered and apron-bombed Moose.

Match finally went back to the ring where Morrissey went for another BQE, but Moose reversed into a rana and a dropkick. They exchanged chops and went back to clotheslines. Moose did a really weird flip off the clothesline, not sure if he attempted Ospreay’s reversal, or if he was selling. Moose could be knocked out, he’s a bit off.

Moose came back with a third Lights Out, but Morrissey was under the ropes. Morrissey hit a BQE, but Moose also had his foot under the ropes. Moose blocked another BQE and went for the jumping Superplex, but couldn’t capitalize for the pin.

Moose kipped up, hit a fourth Lights Out, and got the win. Match was chaotic and scary in the middle, but it was great action.

Honor No More (Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Kenny King, PCO, & Vincent) (with Maria Kanellis-Bennett) defeated Team Impact (Rhino, Chris Sabin, Steve Maclin, Rich Swann, & Willie Mack)

At Hard To Kill, a rogue group of ROH wrestlers invaded Impact, calling themselves Honor No More. After several attacks, Scott D’Amore finally gave the team a match for their survival, if they can defeat Team Impact, they get to stay with Impact, but otherwise, they’re gone. Throughout the week, we’ve had several matches between the members of both stables, but as things escalated, Team Impact lost Josh Alexander to a suspension, Jonathan Gresham and Eddie Edwards to backstage attacks, and now they have to team with Steve Maclin, who is not exactly a trustworthy member.

Match started with a big brawl all around the ring. Maclin and Bennett officially started it inside the ring with a strike exchange and things quickly calmed down. Sabin and Taven followed and so on, we got pair ups with Swann versus Vincent, PCO versus Rhino, and finally Mack versus King. Crowd got excited for PCO and Rhino facing off, they had a fun hoss exchange.

Team Impact was the first to cut off someone in King for a sequence of quick tags and double team moves. Maclin and Sabin did some MCMG spots together.

Honor No More came back, cutting off Sabin for some double team moves at the hands of the OGK. Rich Swann later on got the hot tag, taking down both Taven and Bennett, sending HNM to regroup. Swann tried to dive on them, but he got caught and took a foot stomp on the floor for his troubles.

HNM now worked over Swann, again, with many quick tags and double team moves. It wouldn’t be until he faced PCO that he managed to dodge one of PCO’s dives and Swann got to tag in Mack, who ran wild over HNM. Mack and Swann hit an assisted neck breaker for a two count after Taven broke it up. Mack went for the six star frog splash, but got cut off and instead took OGK’s Proton Pack for a near fall.

Maclin tagged in, hit the Crosshair on Vincent, but got immediately chokeslammed by PCO, followed by a plancha from Taven and the top rope leg drop from PCO. King dropped Swann with a Chin checker, and along with Vincent took out Rhino too.

Maclin accidentally took out the referee after King tossed him into the referee. Match would continue with everyone hitting dives on each other, one after the other. PCO dropped the re-animator on both Mack and Swann, followed by Vincent’s Redrum. At this point, everyone is out on the floor, there a brawl exploded. PCO of course hit the PCO-sault and took everyone out. Referee is still down.

Back in the ring, Rhino went for a Gore, but Maria protected Bennett. Suddenly, Eddie Edwards ran down with kendo stick in hand and sent the OGK running, he set up Maria for the Gore, but instead, Edwards turned on Team Impact, took out everyone with the kendo stick and allowed Kenny King to pin Rhino for the win. Match was great, tons of action and chaos.

Eddie Edwards had always been a Ring Of Honor guy. Good change of direction for Edwards, he had reached that point where he had little to do other than defend Impact against every invading team.
