Drew McIntyre ‘very, very proud’ of TNA star Joe Hendry

Drew McIntyre is proud of the success that his fellow countryman Joe Hendry has found in TNA Wrestling.
McIntyre and Hendry were opponents in WhatCulture Pro Wrestling and ICW during the time McIntyre spent on the indies after he was released by WWE in 2014. Now, McIntyre is a top star in WWE and Hendry is drawing praise for his work in TNA. Hendry has generated some buzz for attempting to get his “I Believe in Joe Hendry” theme music on the music charts in the United Kingdom. He’s also a former Digital Media Champion for TNA.
In an interview with Cultaholic, McIntyre affirmed that he’s a believer in Hendry. McIntyre said Hendry has deserved a big opportunity for a long time.
“I do believe in Joe Hendry, I do. He’s doing awesome. I’m very, very proud of him, especially, you know, getting the song so high up in the charts and causing as much buzz as he’s caused. He’s deserved a big opportunity for a long time, and thankfully he’s been able to showcase himself on Impact and I’m sure it’s just going to keep going up and going up. The sky’s the limit. He can do it all,” McIntyre said.
“He’s very talented in the ring [and] obviously on the microphone. But the videos are next level, and I’m sure the fans of this channel have seen the ‘I’m Drew’ video to the tune of [Eiffel 65’s] ’I’m Blue.’ If you haven’t, check it out.”
Reacting to McIntyre’s praise, Hendry told Cultaholic that it means an “incredible amount.”
Hendry was previously under contract with ROH when that promotion was owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. He only had one match for ROH after it was sold to Tony Khan.
McIntyre is just over a week away from headlining WWE Clash at the Castle in Scotland. At the June 15 event, he’s challenging Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship. The show is taking place from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.
