Despite ‘Delete or Decay’ buzz, TNA viewership drops

Despite the best efforts of Jeremy Borash, Matt Hardy, Vanguard 1, Senor Benjamin, and wrestling Twitter getting the word out about the sequel to ‘The Final Deletion’, the Thursday night edition of TNA Impact Wrestling dropped in viewership.

The ‘Delete or Decay‘ focused episode on POP TV drew in 337,000 viewers, down from last week’s 351,000 viewers. A big reason for that was the regular season return of the NFL on NBC that did a 16.5 rating.

TNA’s viewership has dropped for two straight weeks and with America’s biggest sport as prime competition for the next few months, it might be a while before it gets any relief.

By comparison, ‘The Final Deletion’ episode of Impact did 410,000 viewers.

Aside from the ‘Delete or Decay’ spectacle, the show featured first round matches for the TNA Grand Championship, lots of Billy Corgan, and an EC3/Bobby Lashley brawl.

POP TV released ‘Delete or Decay’ on YouTube Friday.
