Christian Cage vs. Josh Alexander set for Impact Bound for Glory


Josh Alexander is set to challenge Impact World Champion Christian Cage at Bound for Glory next month.
At tonight’s Victory Road event, Christian Cage successfully retained the Impact World title, defeating Ace Austin. After the match, Alexander came down and told told Christian that he opted to exercise “option C”, which is when the X Division Champion vacates the title to earn a shot at Impact’s World Championship. The two then had a staredown to close out the show.
Alexander also was successful tonight at Victory Road, defeating Chris Sabin to retain the X Division title.
Cage, who is a AEW-contracted star, has been making appearances on Impact Wrestling since winning the Impact title from Kenny Omega on the first episode of AEW Rampage on August 13. Aside from tonight’s defense against Austin, he also defeated Brian Myers at Impact’s Emergence event, which aired on August 16.
Bound for Glory will take place at Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 23.
