Chris Bey signs multi-year contract to remain in Impact

While stories since last week regarding Impact Wrestling talent has been about them leaving, one emerged Thursday about a young talent staying put.

First reported by SI.com, Bullet Club’s Chris Bey has re-upped with Impact on a multi-year contract. 

He will continue to be able to work in NJPW and has his eyes set on January’s Wrestle Kingdom. It’s assumed he will also be able to continue to work indie shows as well.

The 26-year-old first debuted in Impact in 2018 with a handful of appearances through the early fall of 2019. 

In the early part of 2020, Bey was brought in for a more permanent role and was inserted into the X-Division mix. He won the title at that year’s Slammiversary in July and held onto it for a month. Since then, he has floated between the X-Division and the World title mix, earning a World title match against then-champion Rich Swann at Final Resolution in December 2020.

Last year saw Bey, a longtime fan first of the company, join the famed Bullet Club where he has remained ever since, mainly working in tag team action with Ace Austin.

In a quote to SI, Bey wants to be in the upper echelon of the company.

“It takes time to become a top guy. That’s what I’m pursuing now. I want programs with Josh Alexander, Eddie Edwards, ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey. I want to work with Impact legends. I am pushing to be the absolute best,” he said.
