  • We’ve got the first new episode of Observer Sin Limite up on the site today where I went through one hour’s worth of recent questions on a ton of different topics.
  • Sami Zayn was at last word not scheduled on the road for the NXT shows this week due to his injury. 
  • I was interviewed yesterday for the Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock countdown show on Spike.  They also interviewed Shamrock, Slice, Scott Coker and Josh Gross that I know of for the piece. 
  • WWE’s George Barrios will be doing a presentation on Tuesday at the J.P. Morgan 43rd annual technology, media and telecom conference in Boston on Tuesday.
  • There is a presale going on currently for a WWE event on 7/25 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles using the code WWEFAN.
  • Paragon Pro Wrestling has a TV taping on 6/9 at Sam’s Town Live at the Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Las Vegas.  Jessy Sorensen is the group’s champion.  Caleb Konley, Joey Ryan and Gangrel also appear.
  • WWE stock closed today at $13.69 per share, up three cents.
  • The annual Beat the Streets wrestling event at Times Square in New York will be a week from today featuring the U.S. vs Cuba national teams.  It will be the first time the Cuban wrestling team has competed in the U.S. since the 2003 world championships in Madison Square Garden.  The U.S. team competing is loaded, including four former Hodge Trophy winners, including Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs, as well as Jake Herbert, Brent Metcalf and David Taylor.  There is also a match between current Division I champion Alan Derringer of Oklahoma State vs. Division II champion Joey Davis of Notre Dame college.  Davis is a three-time Division II champion who has yet to lose in college. There will also be four women’s matches.  The event stats at 3:45 p.m. with the U.S. vs. Cuba at 5:45 p.m.
  • Wrestling at the Chase anniversary show on Saturday night in East Carondelet, IL at the East Carondelet Community Center featuring Stan Hansen appearing as well as Barbara Goodish, the wife of Bruiser Brody, for a Brody tribute at the show.
  • UFC weigh-ins are at 7 a.m. Eastern time (4 a.m. Pacific) in Pasay, Philippines on FS 1 tomorrow morning.  The FS 1 crew working the show are Karyn Bryant, Rashad Evans, Kenny Florian, TJ Dillashaw and Heidi Androl.  The TV coverage on Saturday starts with a pre-game show at 7 a.m. Eastern and the fights start at 8 a.m. Eastern.  The post fight show will be on FS 2 at 1 p.m. Eastern.
  • The Countdown to UFC 187 will air at 5:30 p.m. Sunday on FS 1, building Anthony Johnson vs. Daniel Cormier and Chris Weidman vs. Vitor Belfort’s fight on 5/23,.  It will be followed by UFC Insider at 6:30 p.m. Sunday with Chris Weidman and Anthony Johnson featured.

  • A mockumentary movie is being made featuring stars from The Toxic Avenger. It follows it’s star, who’s been in seclusion for 30 years and is now hitting the convention circuit, until his travels bring up many questions and even stranger truths, that seem to cause mass greed.

The movie stars Mark Torgl (Melvin the Mop Boy from Toxic Avenger), Lloyd Kaufman (Troma Founder), Jonny Fairplay, Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant, and Jake the Snake Roberts. Our own Doc Young is an Associate Producer and has a small cameo.
