  • On the 17th anniversary of her father (Michael Angel Trinidad) passing away in the 9/11 terror attacks, WWE posted a video with Zelina Vega (Thea Trinidad) being interviewed by Renee Young. Vega reflected on her memories of her father and that day. She also discussed how her father was a fan of professional wrestling and The Rock, how they bonded over wrestling, and her telling The Rock about him.
  • Vega wrote about her father: “Even 17 years later it’s still hard to breathe when they get close to reading his name at the #911Memorial ceremony but today and everyday I celebrate and represent for you Daddy. I’m on my way to Cajundome for #SDLive and live our dream. Thank you all for the luv #TRANQUILO”
  • Vega is also the guest on this week’s episode of Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia.
  • SmackDown’s go-home show for Hell in a Cell is taking place in Lafayette, Louisiana tonight. Brie Bella vs. Maryse (the main event of the show), Cesaro & Sheamus vs. Rusev & Aiden English (winning team challenges for The New Day’s Tag Team titles on Sunday), SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Sonya Deville in a non-title match, R-Truth vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas, and Jeff Hardy vs. United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in a non-title match are scheduled.
  • Cedric Alexander & Akira Tozawa vs. Drew Gulak & Jack Gallagher and Buddy Murphy vs. Gran Metalik are set for tonight’s 205 Live.
  • Lio Rush appeared on Raw during a segment with Bobby Lashley last night. It appears that Rush will be Lashley’s new manager.
  • Ronda Rousey responded to Bret Hart saying he was honored that Rousey and Natalya used the Hart Attack on Raw: “I’m speechless! The honor is entirely mine! #HartFoundation #HartAttack @NatbyNature”
  • Xavier Woods tweeted on World Suicide Prevention Day yesterday: “A younger me once made the decision that I wasnt worth being here anymore. Right before that moment ended, a friend saved me and I’m forever grateful. If you ever feel this way then please talk to someone.   • Apollo Crews defeated Zack Ryder and Ember Moon defeated Dana Brooke on this week’s Main Event tapings.
  • Today is Paul Heyman’s 53rd birthday.
  • Buddy Murphy did an interview with News.com.au to promote his Cruiserweight title match against Cedric Alexander at Super Show-Down next month.
  • Carmella appeared on Good Morning Acadiana ahead of tonight’s SmackDown in Lafayette, Louisiana.
  • WWE uploaded The Undertaker and Triple H’s Hell in a Cell match from WrestleMania XXVIII to their YouTube account.

Pro Wrestling

  • Revolution Pro Wrestling announced that Global Wars UK will only be a one-night event this year, with the show being held at the Brixton Recreation Centre on October 14. Minoru Suzuki will defend his Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship against Tomohiro Ishii, and KUSHIDA will challenge for David Starr’s Cruiserweight title.
  • RIngside seats for the NWA’s 70th Anniversary Show are being priced at $70, with general admission tickets costing $19.48 (the year the NWA was founded). Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Central time this Friday. The show will take place in Nashville, Tennessee on October 21, and it’s being headlined by Cody Rhodes and Nick Aldis’ rematch for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
  • Eddie Edwards and Mark Poulton are publishing a children’s book on Edwards’ life next month.
