The current issue has the Stardom PPV preview for the finals of the Five Star Grand prix. The show starts at 2 a.m. tonight Eastern time and 11 p.m. Pacific. The show is available here.
A correction from the issue of the Observer based on a miscommunication. There is not a plan for Samoa Joe & Wardlow vs. Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland. However, there were segments with those guys scheduled for TV this week that had to be changed due to the Hurricane and Tony Khan’s decision to allow anyone who needed to stay in Florida to stay this week. Lee was there and did appear but something with he and Strickland, as well as something with Joe & Wardlow didn’t happen for that reason.
The scheduled NXT weekend house shows have been canceled due to Hurricane Ian.
Power is back on at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.
Regarding the WWE Day 1 show and the 1/1 date, there is both a major college football playoff game the night before in Atlanta plus the Falcons have a game on 1/1 although the game is at 1 p.m. so it would not be head-to-head with the PPV show.
Regarding the VICE documentary on Vince McMahon that Mike Johnson reported on, it will be a two-hour documentary and I believe it will air on 10/11. At least that was a planned date originally but it should be on a Tuesday night this month. I was interviewed for the piece and it covered the gamut of Vince’s career.
PWInsider also reported Tales from the Territories fourth episode on Championship Wrestling from Florida and fifth on Stampede Wrestling, and that there will be an episode on Polynesian Pro Wrestling. Too bad nothing on Ed Francis’ 50th state Wrestling which had wild stories. The first three episodes will be on Jarrett Promotions this coming Tuesday, Jerry Lawler vs. Andy Kaufman on 10/11 and I believe the AWA on 10/18.
WWE
More than 150 episodes of WWWF/WWF All-Star Wrestling from 1975-1982 are now on Peacock. (thanks to David Wolf)
FOX will be broadcasting a WWE special called WWE’s Ten Most Extreme Moments tomorrow. It will air around the college football schedule. Check local listings for the time it airs on your local station.
AEW
Chuck Taylor, Kris Statlander and Orange Cassidy are on the just released episode of The Floor is Lava on Netflix.
