Friday News Update

Garrett Gonzales is out of town today so we won’t be doing a show. Bryan and I will be back Sunday night covering all the weekend news.
Smackdown tonight is from New Orleans with Sheamus vs. Karrion Kross vs. Ricochet vs. Solo Sikoa with the winner getting an IC title match against Gunther. Also LA Knight vs. Mansoor and Kofi Kingston vs Sami Zayn. Of course the big thing is the return of Bray Wyatt It will be interesting to see if his announced television debut moves ratings as much as his teased non-appearances did.
Rampage tonight at 10 p.m. on TNT has Claudio Castagnoli & Jon Moxley vs. Butcher & Blade, Anna Jay vs. Nyla Rose for Rose’s belt, Isiah Kassidy vs. Ethan Page and if Page wins, Matt Hardy has to join The Firm but if Kassidy wins, Private Party is out of their deal and can join Matt Hardy, plus FTR & Shawn Spears vs. Brian Cage & Kuan & Toa Leona.
AEW has filed for a trademark for the term Varsity Club.
Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta are joining forces again to start a new promotion doing slap fighting. They are attempting to get it sanctioned in Nevada.

The only weekend poll will be for tomorrow night’s Triplemania show from Arena Ciudad in Mexico City. It will air on FITE at 9 p.m. Eastern. The top matches are El Hijo del Vikingo vs Fenix for the Mega championship and Pentagon Jr. vs. Villano IV in a mask vs. mask match. On paper when it comes to talent, it’s a very strong show.
