In last night’s UFC show, the Rafa Garcia bloodbath is because his artery was cut open by an elbow by Maheshate. The bleeding was on the side of the head and it didn’t affect Garcia’s vision. It took almost two hours to close the cut and stop the bleeding. Garcia said the doctors told him he’d lost 20 percent of his blood because of the cut in the artery. Garcia still won the fight 30-27 across the board despite all the bleeding.
In last night’s UFC main event, Jared Cannonier won over Sean Strickland by scores of 49-46, 46-49 and 49-46. Media scores were 65 percent to 35 percent in favor of Cannonier. Derek Clearly gave Cannonier every round but four. Judge Sal D’Amato only gave Cannonier the fourth round, so he and Clearly disagreed on all five rounds. Junichiro Kamijo gave only round three to Strickland giving Cannonier rounds 1, 2 4 and 5
Holly Holm vs. Yana Kunhitskaya was announced for a 2/25 UFC show in San Antonio.
