With All In still a few weeks away, the second non-WWE pro wrestling show in the United States to sell over 10,000 tickets since the death of WCW is already official. Tickets for Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden went on sale last week, with the April 6, 2019 event selling out in just a few days. Approximately 9,000 of the 15,000 tickets were sold after the first day of the HonorClub pre-sale, they were up over 12,000 after a second day of pre-sales, and they sold out shortly after being made available to the general public last Friday.

WWE
- Peyton Royce vs. Naomi appears to be set for tonight’s SmackDown after Royce accepted a challenge from Naomi on Twitter. The Bludgeon Brothers defending their Tag Team titles against The New Day in a no DQ match, Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy, an “exclusive interview” with AJ Styles, and Becky Lynch explaining why she attacked Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam are also scheduled. Orton vs. Hardy will be the first match on the show.
- Lynch spoke to Gorilla Position for her first interview since SummerSlam.
- Shinsuke Nakamura also did an interview with Gorilla Position this past weekend. He was asked about Cena accidentally landing on his neck during their match in 2017, saying that “someone” in the back was mad and he thought his career was over. Nakamura said people stuck up for him and that Cena said it was his fault.
- Noam Dar vs. TJP and The Lucha House Party vs. Buddy Murphy & Tony Nese in a tornado tag match are set for tonight’s 205 Live. WWE has announced that Wale, who is a rapper and a huge pro wrestling fan, will be doing commentary on the show tonight alongside Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, and Percy Watson.
- WWE has announced Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate vs. Mark Coffey & Wolfgang for NXT UK’s TV tapings in Birmingham, England this weekend. Dunne will defend his UK Championship on Sunday’s tapings against an opponent that has yet to be announced.
- Reby Hardy, Kim Orton, and Giovanna Angle filmed an episode of the WWE Network’s Table for Three series this weekend, with the theme being that the episode features the wives of WWE wrestlers.
- Reby spoke to Busted Open Radio about Matt Hardy’s status, telling them that Hardy’s contract with WWE is up in March and that he’s going through a transitional period with a decision to be made on whether he should continue his in-ring career or do something different like working backstage as he did this weekend. Reby said she hopes Matt steers away from in-ring competition. Matt tweeted about his future today: “’I’ve spent a majority of my life in hotels. There’s always long halls with dozens of doors in them. It great SYMBOLISM for where I’m at in my life/career right now.. Which door shall I choose & will I be happy & comfortable in that particular chamber?”
- No Way Jose defeated Mike Kanellis and Mojo Rawley defeated Rhyno on last night’s Main Event tapings.
- Roman Reigns recorded a guest role for Disney’s Elena of Avalor animated series.
Pro Wrestling
- Matt Jackson and Flip Gordon parodied the scene between Terry Funk and Dennis Stamp from Beyond the Mat on this week’s Being the Elite.
- ROH has announced Chase Owens for their post-Death Before Dishonor TV tapings in Las Vegas on September 29.
- ROH also issued a statement apologizing to HonorClub subscribers for their Honor Re-United tour not airing live on the service. ROH said they’ll do everything in their power to make sure all touring shows will be live going forward. The Honor Re-United tour was shown on Fite TV, with ROH noting that they would have had to forego streaming the tournament live if they didn’t find that solution.
- Matt Sydal vs. Rich Swann vs. Trevor Lee is set for Impact Wrestling’s show in Manchester, England on September 9, which is part of Wrestling MediaCon. Sami Callihan vs. Jimmy Havoc on the event is now a barbwire bat death match.
- Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs. ACH has been added to MLW’s War Games event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on September 6.
- Women’s Wrestling Revolution will be holding a show in Deer Park, Long Island on the afternoon of WWE’s Evolution PPV.
UFC/MMA
- Daniel Cormier taunted Brock Lesnar on Twitter after Lesnar’s loss to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. Cormier wrote before the match: “Old Brock is looking smaller thru the middle. He getting ready to really come and get that ass whipped!!!! Have fun in this @Wwe title match because when we clash I’m in that ass!!!!” He then posted after Lesnar vs. Reigns was over: “No more title now he can come and chase mine!!!! Sorry @BrockLesnar result will be the same!!!!”
- Dana White claimed that the UFC is now worth $7 billion after signing their TV deal with ESPN.
- Kayla Harrison guaranteed that she’ll be fighting Cris Cyborg in the future.
- Bryce Mitchell detailed an awful injury that he suffered recently where he “ripped his nutsack in half.”
