TUESDAY NEWS UPDATE

WWE
- WWE issued a new storyline update on Rey Mysterio’s status following his Eye for an Eye match against Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules: “WWE Digital has learned that Rey Mysterio’s vision is improving slowly each day, and that his optic nerve is intact, completely secured and back in its socket. A timeline for Mysterio’s return to the ring is unknown at this time.”
- WWE also announced that Nia Jax has been fined in storyline following last night’s Raw: “Nia Jax has been fined an undisclosed amount for inappropriate contact with multiple WWE officials in the aftermath of her match against Shayna Bazler on Monday’s Raw, WWE.com has learned. The Irresistible Force and The Queen of Spades battled to a double count-out, then steamrolled over security who tried to separate them. Jax capped off the melee by crushing a WWE official with a Samoan Drop. Stick with WWE’s digital and social channels for more on this story as it develops.”
- A tribute video for Regis Philbin aired on last night’s episode of Raw.
- Seth Rollins posted a picture of his back after the kendo stick shots Dominik Mysterio gave him on last night’s Raw.

- While appearing on Booker T’s Hall of Fame radio show, Ric Flair spoke about his wife Wendy Barlow’s battle against COVID-19: “She’s doing great. Much better. Not 100 percent, but she’s doing much better. It’s been over three weeks now, but it just was a nightmare. All of a sudden, it just came on her, and then, of course, you backtrack and figure out where it came from. She was really sick. I’d take her to the hospital twice…just to make sure she was okay. Of course, they released her both times after keeping her for a couple of hours, but you can’t be careful enough. In the world I live in, you just double-check and cross-examine everybody. It’s brutal.”
- A new episode of WWE Day Of focusing on this year’s Extreme Rules PPV will premiere on the WWE Network on Sunday.
- Stephanie McMahon is the guest on the latest episode of Sports Innovation Lab’s Fluid Fan Podcast.
- WWE’s YouTube channel uploaded Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog for the Intercontinental title from SummerSlam 1992, Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton from SummerSlam 2015, and John Cena vs. Jinder Mahal from the August 15, 2017 episode of SmackDown.
