Monday Update

  • Bryan and I will be back tonight talking Raw and all the latest pro wrestling and MMA news.
  • A few notes on Friday ratings. Rampage did 234,000 viewers and an 0.06 in 18-49, the lowest 18-49 number in show history.  It went against The American League playoffs, as well as college football on FOX and ESPN and NBA preseason on ESPN 2 and some of the WNBA finals.
  • Smackdown did its lowest number thus far on USA, with 1.38 million viewers and 0.42. It went against the Yankees vs. Guardians game that did 5.1 million viewers and 1.27 in 18-49 on TBS, the WNBA finals that did 1.67 million viewers and 0.41.
  • RAW tonight is in Philadelphia.  The matches announced are Jey Uso vs. Bron Brakker for the IC title, Creeds vs. Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee and New Day vs. AOP in tournament matches for a tag title shot plus Seth Rollins and Bronson Reed set up their upcoming match. There are two NFL games, Baltimore vs. Tampa Bay and Arizona vs. Los Angeles Chargers. The Ravens vs. Bucs airs on ABC, ESPN and ESPN 2 while Arizona vs. Los Angeles will be only on ESPN+. Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa and Nia Jax vs. Bayley in title matches will take place in the building after Raw is over. Lilian Garcia is there and one would presume she’ll be ring announcer tonight. The show should sell out although they did do ticket discounting as we noted a few weeks ago. There were 12,700 tickets out earlier today and a sellout would be just over 13,000.
  • Donald Trump was on Undertaker’s podcast today. Trump thought he hosted three or four WrestleManias (he hosted two). Undertaker corrected him and said he hosted two, WM 3 and 4.  It was actually 4 and 5.
  • Shingo Takagi said if he beats Zack Sabre Jr. for the IWGP title at Power Struggle, he will challenge Will Ospreay in his first title defense. Taichi said that if Zack Sabre Jr. retains he wants the shot at the Tokyo Dome.
  • WrestleMania combo tickets for both nights go on sale Friday.
  • Big Manma won the vacant NWA women’s TV tite in a four-way at a show in Highland Park, IL.
  • Donovan Dijak debuts for AIW on 11/29 in Eastlake, OH at Force Sports.
  • Danshoku Dino from DDT will be on the 11/9 Defy show from Washington Hall in Seattle against Randy Myers.
  • Matt Riddle vs. Minoru Suzuki has been added to the 11/9 MLW show in Chicago.
