TUESDAY NEWS UPDATE
WWE

- SmackDown & 205 Live will air tonight from Detroit.
- It was announced on last night’s episode of Raw that Roman Reigns would once again challenge Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble in January. As a stipulation for the match, Chris Jericho will be suspended above the ring in a shark cage to stop him from interfering.
- With Reigns scheduled for the Universal title match, it’s possible that he won’t be a participant in this year’s Rumble match.
- Last night also saw new directions for the women’s division with programs pitting Charlotte Flair against Bayley and Sasha Banks against Nia Jax starting.
- Rich Swann & TJ Perkins will face Neville & Brian Kendrick on tonight’s edition of 205 Live.
- Finn Balor reflected on his injury and said that the target is still to be back in time for WrestleMania in an interview with ESPN.
- New Raw tag titles were introduced on Raw last night as Mick Foley awarded new champions Cesaro & Sheamus the new belts with red straps.
- Triple H discussed WWE’s plans for the UK market and had some praise for Will Ospreay in an interview with ESPN.
- The Miami Herald has an article on Chad Gable.
- Zack Ryder tweeted that he may be out anywhere from 4-9 months after undergoing knee surgery.
PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING

- ESPN looks at Lio Rush and his rise to stardom in ROH.
- Chris Charlton translated an interview that Kenny Omega did with Tokyo Sports.
- Matt Hardy tweeted that a DVD of his “broken brilliance” is coming soon.
- This match spilled on to the street.
UFC / MMA

- Dan Hardy responded to Mickey Gall’s challenge and declined the fight.
- Rolling Stone named Michael Bisping their UFC Fighter of the Year.
- Gegard Mousasi claimed on Twitter that the UFC offered Chris Weidman a fight against him and he challenged Weidman to accept it. Weidman responded by saying that he’s still healing up and Mousasi was one of a few names given to him by the UFC.
VARIETY
- Sting was featured in a parody video released by the Dallas Cowboys today with him assuming the role of the team’s “intimidation coach.”
- 2K today announced availability of the first update to WWE SuperCard – Season 3, the latest iteration of 2K’s popular WWE collectible card-battling game. Today’s update, which begins releasing today for iOS and Android devices, features the Throwback Plus Pack.
- EPISODE 19 – Bow Down to the Queen (Of Rings), Current Global Force Wrestling wrestler Lei’D Tapa! During WrestleCade weekend in Winston-Salem, NC, the Queen (Of Rings) sit down backstage to have an elegant & wildly entertaining interview. Also with her is her longtime husband & manager Royal Red.

- Former TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion Thea Trinidad was the latest guest on the Pancakes and Powerslams Show. She credits Tommy Dreamer for giving her a break in the business, as well as Rey Mysterio and Lita as inspirations. Trinidad also explained how her relationship with Aries started out, and her experience in NXT wrestling Asuka.
