Daily Update: Ospreay to make ROH debut, GSP back in UFC, WWE CWC continues

Ospreay to make ROH debut
Huge news broke yesterday as Ring of Honor announced on the “ROH Update” that the “Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay will make his ROH debut on the promotion’s “Reach For The Sky” tour in the UK this November.
There was speculation that Ospreay would be exclusive to EVOLVE in the United States after Paul Heyman presented Ospreay with an EVOLVE contract on behalf of Gabe Sapolsky during Heyman’s speaking series in the UK last month, but Dave Meltzer reported that nothing had been officially signed.
Ospreay is under contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling, and their relationship with ROH would seem to make them a natural fit for his US home, but whether Ospreay will compete stateside for ROH remains to be seen.
Meltzer reported in the August 8th edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Ospreay was still in talks with both EVOLVE and ROH.
Here are the venues that will host Ring of Honor’s “Reach For The Sky” tour events.

Figure Four Weekly: Figure Four Weekly 8/3/2016: Latest developments in wrestling related lawsuits – If it wasn’t clear before that the Hulk Hogan vs. Gawker lawsuit is a whole lot bigger than Hulk Hogan or even Gawker, the events of the last few weeks have made it more obvious than ever before. Wrestling Observer Newsletter: August 8, 2016 Wrestling Observer Newsletter: WWE financial report, MMA rules change, UFC 201– There really wasn’t a lot of big news coming out of the second quarter WWE conference call.
Even though the idea of barely making a profit in the quarter of WrestleMania would have been disastrous most years, this year it was stated well in advance that due to the time frame of programming costs, this quarter would probably break even.
WWE pushed that it was the most revenue ever generated in a quarter, but with the fallout of WrestleMania and the new free subscribers from the prior quarter, that was inevitable. Some of them stayed with the service, some may have forgotten to cancel the service, and there are also the contractual increases in television revenue.
