The New Day were ranked at number one as the greatest team in WWE history. The series coincided with this month being the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the WWE World Tag Team Championship. The full top 10 was:
- The New Day
- The Hardy Boyz
- The Hart Foundation
- Edge & Christian
- The Dudley Boyz
- The Legion of Doom
- The Usos
- The New Age Outlaws
- The Undertaker & Kane
- The British Bulldogs
- Big E tweeted about New Day topping the list: “I know many will disagree with the list but being named the greatest tag team of all time makes me reflect on our journey. I’m massively grateful for @TrueKofi & @AustinCreedWins. I’m thankful we bet on ourselves & were unafraid to pursue a path that felt right for us.”
- WWE released the trailer for “WWE Icons: Lex Luger.” The documentary premieres on Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network everywhere else this Sunday.
- Bronson Reed tweeted after losing the North American title to Isaiah “Swerve” Scott on last night’s NXT: “My fans, my friends, my family. My wife. I failed you. I’m sorry. Now what? @WWENXT”
- NXT’s battery charging teases continued last night, with the battery now charged at 81 percent. The teases first began airing two weeks ago.
- Big E, Otis, and Johnny Gargano & Austin Theory were guests on this morning’s episode of WWE’s The Bump.
- Otis had a new look with his hair cut on The Bump this morning.
- Sean “X-Pac” Waltman will appear on next Wednesday’s edition of The Bump. He’ll be the show’s first in-studio guest in more than a year.
- The Wednesday, August 4 episode of The Bump will be this year’s Bumpy People’s Choice Awards.

Other Wrestling
- Today is Terry Funk’s 77th birthday. Cody Rhodes also turns 36 today, Dax Harwood turns 37, and Alicia Fox turns 35.
- People published a story with the first photos of Cody and Brandi Rhodes’ daughter Liberty Iris Runnels. The baby was born on June 18.
- Sports Illustrated interviewed MJF ahead of his match against Sammy Guevara on tonight’s Dynamite.
- AEW announced this week’s roster rankings.
- On Busted Open Radio yesterday, Bully Ray criticized Eddie Kingston for knocking WWE in his post-show promo after last Saturday’s Dynamite:
I love Eddie Kingston — to death. If we were having promo wars, and I was the captain of the team, and somebody said, ‘you get to pick one person to do the promo for you,’ I’d most likely pick Eddie. Because of his believability, his tone, his inflection, everything about Eddie. Obviously, we kind of sound alike, so I appreciate Eddie’s delivery, the same way I appreciate Taz’s delivery. Taz, another master on the stick.
But in this case, Eddie Kingston needs to shut the f*ck up and stay in his lane. And his lane is as an AEW guy speaking about AEW, and flying the flag for AEW. Then I’m completely on board. Tell me about how great AEW is, fly the flag for your company, show me that you wear your heart on your sleeve. Tell me why that you were an indie guy for the majority of your career, now this company took a chance on you, and you have learned to love it and everything about it. Now I’m on board, Eddie.
Don’t take the easy way out and knock the WWE. Because if you go back and you listen to the fans, they really didn’t pop that hard when he took a jab at the WWE… You didn’t get the reaction you were looking for. Because people are most likely thinking, ‘Alright Eddie, stay away from them. There’s no reason to go there.’ If Cody wants to destroy a throne, I get it. If Jericho wants to say ‘FU,’ I get it. But, Eddie? Why? There’s no reason for him to say it.
- During a Q&A for AdFreeShows, Tully Blanchard spoke about the six-man tag match he had for AEW earlier this year: “It was a thrill to be there with JJ [Dillon]. I felt, in the ring, my old brain kick back into my early 30’s. The only thing, my body couldn’t keep up with it, but it was a thrill. The thing was when Luchasaurus kicked me in the side of the head, it took me a month to get over that. That was an amazing thing, because we have physical therapists and stuff in the back. You have a training room like a football team. They worked on me. I went home and had my own chiropractor and massage therapist work on me. I’m glad I didn’t experience any more damage than I did, but the 67-year-old can’t do anything that the 35-year-old could.”
- On Tuesday’s edition of ROH Week By Week, it was announced that a triple threat tag team match between The Foundation (Jay Lethal & Jonathan Gresham), Violence Unlimited (Brody King & Tony Deppen), and La Faccion Ingobernable (Kenny King & Dragon Lee) will air on the ROH TV episode that premieres the weekend of Saturday, July 10. Flip Gordon vs. PJ Black is also set for that episode.
- NJPW uploaded part one of an interview with The Good Brothers.
- While speaking with Fanbyte, Atsushi Onita was asked about Jon Moxley using his “Wild Thing” theme music: “Jon Moxley uses my theme music? Thank you, Moxley. I think if he has a spirit of JADO (evil ways), we might stand in the same ring some day. It would be interesting, wouldn’t it?”
