PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING

  • This week’s episode of TNA Impact was watched by 284k viewers, which was down from the 305k that watched last week’s show and continues a trend of declining ratings in recent weeks.
  • The Tennessean has an article on the tax lien filed against TNA by the Tennessee Department of Revenue.
  • Music magazine SPIN has a short story on the saga of Billy Corgan and TNA.
  • In his first post-WWE match, Ryback won the WrestlePro tag titles with partner Pat Buck against the Heavenly Bodies. WrestlePro streamed the match on Facebook. Ryback will face Dan Maff for WrestlePro tonight.
  • Ryback will also face Broken Matt Hardy for WrestleCade in a match for the promotion’s championship on November 26th in Winston Salem, NC.
  • Chris Hero vs. Katsuyori Shibata was announced for Global Wars UK night two on November 11th.
  • KFVS plugs a wrestling show tonight in Harrisburg, IL with Honky Tonk Man, Disco Inferno and Jimmy Hart.
  • A Catholic school is having a pro wrestling exhibition as a fundraiser in Dearborn Heights, MI.

UFC/MMA

  • UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden will have a four-hour main card on PPV.
  • Conor McGregor predicted that UFC 205 will break the company record for PPV buys, and said he’s almost certain the show will hit the two-million buy mark.
  • Jon Jones’ USADA arbitration hearing is set for Halloween in Los Angeles.
  • Combate Americas presented its first show with Alberto Del Rio as company president on UFC Fight Pass last night. Ricardo Rodriguez also did the ring announcing for the show. Frank Shamrock did play by play, with UFC women’s bantamweight contender Julianna Pena providing color commentary.
  • Women’s strawweight prospect Mackenzie Dern won her second straight pro fight on last night’s Legacy show on AXS TV, submitting Montana Stewart in the first round. Former UFC featherweight Damon Jackson won a decision over Levi Mowles in the main event.
  • Derrick Lewis will headline his first UFC show when he takes on Shamil Abdurahimov in a heavyweight fight in the main event of the Albany FS1 show on December 9th.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Ric Flair appeared on ESPN’s College GameDay this morning as this week’s celebrity guest game predictor.
  • Maria Kanellis-Bennett was interviewed on CNN about her experiences with Donald Trump on Celebrity Apprentice.
  • Fuse TV has a look inside the wrestling school run by Amazing Red.
  • Anime character Tiger Mask W coming to life recently in a New Japan ring was the focus of an article from Comics Alliance.
  • The new Tiger Mask W television series is available with English subtitles from anime streaming site Crunchyroll. They offer a two week free trial period (with a don’t forget to cancel gimmick) if you want to browse. NJPW World also has episodes without subtitles and strictly in Japanese.
