Daily Update: Gigi Dolin, WWE notes, QTV

Wednesday Update

WWE
- For the first time since Toxic Attraction imploded two weeks ago, Gigi Dolin returned to NXT last night, attacking Jacy Jayne while Jayne was facing Indi Hartwell. Dolin posted a picture of a cut on her finger from attacking Jayne.
- Jayne responded to Dolin: “Wow she’s so tough showing off her paper cut. I’m really shaking in my boots now”
- Dolin wrote: “Nah, boo. I’m not showing off my wounds, I’m showing off what I did to you. These knuckles bruised from that big ass head of yours. You talk too much.”
- While appearing on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, Mia Yim spoke about whether Michin is her name in WWE or her nickname:
- That’s a great question because I don’t know [laughs.] I think it was initially a nickname. The whole time, I was told it was a nickname. The biggest thing that I want everyone to know is I’m okay with this name. Everything new, not everyone’s gonna like it. I get it, but I’m okay with this name. It’s better than Reckoning, so I’m not gonna complain about this name [laughs]. It’s a nickname now, and who knows, maybe in the future, it could transition to being my name. If it is, I’m okay with that too.
- Busted Open Radio asked Beth Phoenix if she has any plans for WrestleMania 39:
- I’ll be at WrestleMania. I’m sure Adam [Edge] will be factored and featured in. I’ll be there to enjoy. Whatever it is, I can say with all my heart, he and I don’t look too far ahead. We don’t have any plans, ‘this is going to be the retirement.’ We’re just taking it one day at a time. When these little opportunities pop up, we’re just like, ‘hell yeah.’ We don’t know what tomorrow brings and our kids are old enough now that they can process mom and dad squeezing this for every last drop. That’s fun. It’s been really fun to do this as a family. They’re in elementary school, so the kids know what our jobs are and they’re watching the match.
- Samantha Irvin has reached six years of sobriety from alcohol: “6 years ago I ended my toxic relationship with alcohol. Sharing this just in case someone needs to hear it’s possible”

AEW/Other Wrestling
- During AEW Dark last night, a teaser aired hyping that QTV is coming soon. No further details were revealed.
- Lio Rush spoke to Chris Van Vliet about his relationship with Tony Khan:
- There’s probably a little bit (of animosity). I mean, how can there not be? I like Tony a lot. I really like Tony. I think that’s the first time I’m saying that out loud. Yeah, I can’t take it back now, but I do like Tony and that was one thing that made me so willing to give AEW a chance because I feel like I was scarred from my WWE run. I feel like I was traumatized a little bit. I feel like we connected pretty quickly. There was a lot of emotion involved and I probably shouldn’t have brought the emotion out, but I’m glad that I did. I’m glad that I show people that I stand for something. I’m glad that I show people that I care about myself and I care about others. It’s not always about a paycheck to me. Yeah, I am, I’m sorry, I’m kind of, I mean, this is huge for me, like really, because this is the first time that I’m really, really speaking on it. Like, you know, I’ve talked about it, but I haven’t really, really talked about it in that sense, like with my actual, like, relationship with Tony and stuff like that. I’ve talked to him a few times (since he left AEW). Yeah, we’ve talked a number of times and it’s always great. It’s always, ‘How have you been? Good to hear from you.’ The love is still there. The support is still there. There’s just other factors into me actually being there. I mean, I’m doing so much right now. I’m happy with what I’m doing. It’s not really I’m trying to force something to happen. If it happens, it happens, but I love the direction that I’m going in right now. I love what I’m doing. I’m glad that I feel like I don’t really have any true bad blood within wrestling.
