Saturday News Update

WWE
- After making her return to WWE last night, Emma has been added to the SmackDown roster page on WWE.com.
- WWE uploaded a post-show interview with Emma after last night’s SmackDown. Emma said she waited five years to return to WWE and will make sure she’s never forgotten again.
- Emma posted on social media: “5 years ago today I was heartbroken feeling like my dream had come to an end. Today my heart is so full! I’m overwhelmed by the amount of support I have. You guys are the best. Now… I’ve got some unfinished business to take care of! I’m home baby!!”
- 1hAEW’s Saraya tweeted about Emma’s return: “Proud of you sister @TenilleDashwood”
- Madcap Moss told WWE Die Woche that Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar are two people who have given him advice in his WWE career: “To be able to share the ring and the locker room with a guy like Randy Orton, anytime I get a chance, I’ll pick his brain. As much as he is a menace, destruction machine, I’ve actually had Brock Lesnar pull me to the side. We both went to the University of Minnesota and certainly, when he gave me advice, I listened. Those are just a couple of examples. There’s a lot of guys in the locker room that I respect and listen to.”
- Roxanne Perez dressed up as Bayley and Cora Jade dressed up as AJ Lee for a Halloween battle royal at last night’s NXT house show.
- AJ Mendez reacted to Jade’s costume: “OMG. Mother is so proud. And ordering a dna test.”
- Former Bellator fighter Valerie Loureda was also a participant in the battle royal.
- Roxanne Perez spoke to the Mark Moses Show about working with Shawn Michaels: “He’s amazing. He’s given me so much confidence to just go out there and know that they can trust me with anything they throw at me. I can go out there and have a good match for you, I can do a promo, I can do a live promo. He’s given me so much confidence with that. It’s surreal to be working with him. I used to re-watch the DX documentary when I was 12, over and over again. To be working with him and Triple H is now working with the main roster again, it’s wild.”
- Jake Paul channeled Triple H by doing a water spit at the weigh-ins for his fight against Anderson Silva.
- Imperium, Liv Morgan, and The Bloodline were interviewed on The SmackDown LowDown.
- WWE has a behind-the-scenes video from Liv Morgan’s appearance on “Chucky.”
- The following full matches were uploaded to WWE’s YouTube channel today: Kane vs. MVP in an inferno match (Armageddon 2006), The Undertaker vs. Chavo Guerrero in a casket match (October 31, 2008 SmackDown), and The New Day vs. The Usos (October 29, 2021 SmackDown).
AEW/Other Wrestling
- In a recent interview with Inside the Ropes, Bryan Danielson discussed how he considered signing with ROH in 2018:
- It was really interesting. My contract with WWE was up in 2018 and I was considering going to Ring of Honor. And I was talking to The Young Bucks and I was talking to Cody [Rhodes] just to kind of see – all their contracts were up with Ring of Honor and I was like, ‘What are you guys gonna do?’ Because even my lawyer, who doesn’t know anything about pro wrestling, he said, ‘Hey, I don’t think you’d wanna sign with Ring of Honor if these Young Bucks aren’t going because they’ve got this YouTube show. I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, called Being The Elite’ and it’s essentially the driver for the popularity of Ring of Honor at the time, right? And so those guys go away, we don’t know if Ring of Honor will nearly still be as popular and then with Cody’s contract coming up, if they leave and Cody leaves, what will Ring of Honor’s popularity be like? So that was a part of the discussion.
- Malakai Black posted a House of Black teaser yesterday that includes him, Julia Hart, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews. Black captioned the post with “An elegy of the forgotten.”
- Britt Baker and Orange Cassidy attended today’s Fulham game in London with Tony Khan.
- Ted DiBiase said he’s planning to reach out to Virgil more: “I saw him [Virgil] at an autograph signing. I can’t remember where because I do so many of ‘em and we had a good little chat, little worried about him because he doesn’t look real healthy and he just told me, without getting into any detail that he was having some health issues so, you know, I’m gonna try to reach out to him a little more because… I don’t know. It’s hard to explain. He’s a pretty complicated guy.”
- Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling averaged 101,000 viewers on AXS TV. The rating in the 18-49 demo was a 0.02.
