How Becky Lynch will react to Liv Morgan being the next challenger for her Raw Women’s Championship is also being teased for the episode. Plus, Bobby Lashley is set to appear.
- TVInsider asked Bianca Belair how she’s acclimated to being on Raw: “We just had an incredible five-way for the opportunity to face Becky Lynch, who is the Raw women’s champion. I would’ve loved to have won, but I’m super excited for Liv Morgan. She has put in the time and work and is really someone you want to cheer for. It’s her time right now. There are so many talented women in our locker room. I’m heading into a feud with Doudrop, which will feel fresh. I want to be known as a great performer, a great competitor, and know when you turn on the TV screen and see Bianca Belair that you know it’s going to be good.”

Other Wrestling
- AEW’s Countdown to Full Gear preview special is available to watch on YouTube.
- I previewed Full Gear for Sports Illustrated and gave predictions for each match.
- Starting at 7 p.m. Eastern tonight, Andrew and Rich of the Mat Men Podcast will be live for a Full Gear watch along.
- On the 16th anniversary of Eddie Guerrero’s death, CM Punk dedicated his match against Eddie Kingston at Full Gear tonight to Guerrero: “Tonight is for Eddie.”
- Vickie Guerrero wrote about being in Minneapolis, the city where Eddie passed away, on the anniversary of his death:
What is today? Today is a day God has blessed me to breathe, love, and make my day as if it’s my last. Today reminds me of an unplanned day when God called Eddie to His Heavenly gates. Today, taught me to face the world the best way I knew how! Today, is the day that I learned how many people love Eddie and his memorable legacy. An exceptional legacy that I learned how to be the ‘Queen of Mean’ from watching Eddie’s work inside the ring! The countless hours that Eddie would create storylines on paper and rehearse promos in front of a mirror and using me to create ‘a hold’ on me and ask if it was painful!!!!!. I learned everything from Eddie not only professionally but personally as Eddie’s wife and mother to Shaul and Sherilyn. These valuable lessons that didn’t come written in an manual.
Today, I am emotional that I wake up in the same city, arena, and day that you passed! Tonight, I will walk down the ramp and carry Eddie in my heart. I walk into the ring and look over to the corner and nod at Eddie sitting across the corner of the top rope.
For years….Eddie talked about how he wanted to ‘make it to the top’. Eddie, you exceeded your dreams and your legacy lives forever and you will never be forgotten. You are loved and missed everyday….
- Punk spoke to Bleacher Report about facing Kingston tonight: “I’m looking forward to it just because there seems to be a huge, tangible buzz about it. I think if you’re a performer, when the crowd is invested, it doesn’t matter if they love you or hate you. It just seems to be an intriguing pair of guys going at it, right? We’ve kind of breathed life into what some of the classic legends of pro wrestling used to do on the regular. It’s just two normal dudes talking normal trash. The fun part about pro wrestling is you get to go in a ring and you get to beat the crap out of each other.”
- Kingston told the New York Post about why he wrote his Players’ Tribune article and opened up about battling depression: “It’s very weird and I don’t like the attention. I did the article not to get attention, I did the article thinking maybe it will help one person. But the response has been pretty overwhelming. When I got very uncomfortable, thank God for my girlfriend for calming me down, because I was just screaming in my house like what is going on. Why are people hitting me up and telling me I did this and that and I inspired this and that. I didn’t get it. But I accept it and if it does help out one person that’s all I care about.”
- Men’s Health published a story on Hangman Page challenging Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear.
- Omega told Sports Illustrated about the story between him and Page: “Both of us have put a lot of heart and soul into this. We haven’t been handed scripts or sat in production meetings to build this story. A lot of this comes from reality. Maybe we’ve sensationalized some of the details, but there is a lot of truth to the story we’re telling. There is real-life emotion attached to this clash.”
- MJF said in an interview with UPI that his New Year’s resolution for 2022 is to become World Champion. MJF also discussed Roddy Piper never being a World Champion during his career: “It is a crying shame that he was not a World Champion, and the reason why he wasn’t is because people were afraid that if he won that title, it would have been a reign of terror the likes of which this sport has never seen before. I can assure you that my title reign will be just that.”
- TSN has an interview with FTR.
- Last night’s Rampage averaged 480,000 viewers in the fast nationals. Of those viewers, 232,000 were in the 18-49 demo. The previous week’s Rampage averaged 556,000 viewers in the fast nationals, with 267,000 viewers being in the 18-49 demo.
- After Rampage, Tony Khan teased that Best Friends should bring someone else from Chaos to AEW: “Might I suggest that maybe next time you bring someone else from Chaos. If there is a next time. Could be a good idea. Maybe not who you think, but it might be who you think. I just think it might be a good idea.”
- Buddy Matthews spoke to Sports Illustrated about facing Kazuchika Okada at NJPW Battle in the Valley tonight: “I am primed to take the next step in my career. That’s what I want to do in this match against Okada. Wrestling Okada, this is a chance to make a real splash. I get to wrestle their best. In my mind, I’m the best. I thought I was the best on 205 Live, Raw, and then SmackDown. I have to feel that way. And on Saturday at Battle in the Valley, I’ll get to prove it.”
