Monday is Raw from Manchester, UK. The only thing announced is Kurt Angle on Miz TV and Jason Jordan vs. Elias in a guitar on a pole match. There will also be a Smackdown house show in Lisbon, Portugal.

Tuesday has Smackdown and 205 Live from Manchester, UK with Jinder Mahal vs. A.J. Styles for the WWE title and Usos vs. Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin for the tag titles. There will also be a Raw house show in Birmingham, UK.

Also on Tuesday, Fathom Entertainment will be presenting a Ted DiBiase documentary at movie theaters for a 7:35 p.m. showing across the country. ESPN 30 for 30 will do the Ric Flair story.

Wednesday has Raw in Dortmund, Germany and Smackdown in Leeds, UK.

Also on Wednesday will be the one-day release of the Conor McGregor documentary at theaters around the U.S.

At a time when WWE releases aren’t as common as they used to be, it was surprising to see three wrestlers let go this week. That WWE broke the news on a Sunday morning only made things more odd. The names who were released weren’t exactly shocking, with Emma, Darren Young, and Summer Rae no longer with the company. Of those, Emma was the only one currently on television.

With its wrestlers in Australia and its front office personnel in a total state of uncertainty, media reports continued hot and heavy regarding a potential imminent sale of World Championship Wrestling. While virtually all reports listed Mandalay Sports as the prime suitor, with a group headed by Eric Bischoff, most of the talk over the weekend involved a longshot in the deal which has been rumored for some time, the potential of the World Wrestling Federation buying out its long-time competitor, particularly after a story on 10/9 in Multi Channel News.

  • In addition to the reveal of Jericho challenging Omega, Jay White returned to NJPW as the “Switchblade” character that had been built up in vignettes. He confronted Hiroshi Tanahashi after the main event, with them exchanging forearms and White laying Tanahashi out. It seems like that will be the Intercontinental Championship match for Wrestle Kingdom 12 at the Tokyo Dome on January 4th, 2018.
  • NJPW appeared to set up an ROH World Championship match between Cody and Kota Ibushi for the Tokyo Dome in a backstage angle after Power Struggle went off the air. That would take place after Cody is set to defend the title against Dalton Castle for ROH at Final Battle in December.
  • Here’s what the partial card for the Dome show looks like as of now:
    IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada defending against Tetsuya Naito
    IWGP Intercontinental Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi defending against Jay White
    IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho (NJPW has yet to officially confirm whether the title will be on the line)

  • Much of the card for Wrestle Kingdom will be officially confirmed at a press conference overnight.
  • NJPW’s Takaaki Kidani noted that 30,000 fans is their target for Wrestle Kingdom’s attendance.
  • Jericho tweeted out a poster for his matchup with Omega.
  • Davey Richards wrote that he’ll be taking all of 2018 off from pro wrestling to focus on his medical studies, noting that he’ll return to the ring full-time in 2019.
  • WWN referee Brandon Tolle is debuting for Impact Wrestling at Bound for Glory tonight.
  • Ed Nordholm tweeted a photo of tonight’s stage for the PPV.
  • Those who order Bound for Glory on Fite TV will receive three free months of Impact’s Global Wrestling Network on-demand service.
