Over three years after the Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar saga started, it ended pretty anticlimactically.

MONDAY NEWS UPDATE

WWE
- Tonight’s Raw is taking place from the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio. Nikki & Brie Bella facing two members of The Riott Squad, The B-Team defending their Raw Tag Team titles against The Revival, and an appearance by Shawn Michaels are advertised. Michaels will be promoting Triple H and The Undertaker’s match at WWE Super Show-Down in Melbourne, Australia next month. As noted earlier, The Undertaker is reportedly backstage tonight.
- Charlotte Flair posted a tweet setting up that her match against Becky Lynch at Hell in a Cell will be inside the cell: “.@BeckyLynchWWE So you want to settle this in a cell? I’m going to make one thing very clear. In a regular match I let go of your leg after you tap. In a cell, I let go when I want to. Either way this ends the same way… With you wondering what could have been as you limp away.” Lynch then responded: “Smart woman @MsCharlotteWWE, running your mouth while your jaw is still able. You pick where you lose the title. I’ll pick how. #IBooTheWoo” WWE has yet to officially announce their match.
- While appearing on the Jonathan Ross Show, Dave Bautista said Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is on hold indefinitely and he doesn’t know if he wants to work for Disney after James Gunn was fired from the film.
- Melina responded to Naomi naming her as someone she wants to face at Evolution: “I know in my heart having a match with you would be insanely magical. I absolutely adore you! Thank you for always being such an incredible person. Sending you all my love & please know, I’m so proud of you.”
- Velveteen Dream has changed his Twitter name to “Indy Dream” and sent out tweets building up his matches against Austin Theory and Darby Allin for EVOLVE on Friday and Saturday.
- Stone Cold vs. Vince McMahon (part three) and Ted DiBiase collections will be added to the WWE Network next month.
- Zack Ryder is the guest on today’s episode of Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia.
Pro Wrestling
- PWInsider reported that Joey Mercury was arrested on Saturday morning after police were notified that he was sleeping in his car outside The Marriott in Schaumburg, Illinois. Mercury has no pending charges in Illinois, but police found an outstanding warrant from Florida and he was taken into custody. He’s being held on $2,500 bail ahead of a court day tomorrow. What the warrant was for isn’t yet known. Mercury works for ROH as a trainer and producer and was in Chicago to work backstage at All In.
- The All In main card is now available to watch on demand for New Japan World subscribers.
- In an article where they interviewed Pro Wrestling Tees owner Ryan Barkan, Sports Illustrated reported that Pro Wrestling Tees in Chicago generated almost $500,000 during All In weekend (Thursday to Sunday) and sold over 20,000 products.
- The Rock congratulated Cody Rhodes on his NWA title win: “Congrats my friend. So f’n cool! That’s some real legacy and history you’re now a part of. Proud of you. Your pops is lookin’ down and smilin’ BIG! #10LbsOfGold #NWAHeavyweightChamp”
- Dustin Rhodes tweeted a video to Cody and said he’s watched Cody vs. Nick Aldis three times and the show twice. Dustin apologized for not being able to make the event and said he’s sad he couldn’t be there.
- Ricky Steamboat also sent out a tweet congratulating Cody: “Congratulations to @CodyRhodes on his NWA win. I’m sure he will be fine champion!”
- Aldis wrote about Jeff Jarrett being in his corner at All In, noting that it was about giving a second chance to someone who gave him his first opportunity to be a champion.
- Saturday’s episode of World of Sport averaged 400,000 viewers on ITV, a big decline from last week’s 700,000. The show shifted to a new time slot this week and started a half hour earlier.
- NJPW posted video of an interview with Chris Jericho from the day after he won the IWGP Intercontinental Championship from Tetsuya Naito at Dominion.
- Naomichi Marufuji said he appreciates Triple H letting Hideo Itami work his 20th anniversary show and wants to repay the favor if WWE wants him for a match in the future..
- Lanny Poffo debuted a new podcast called “The Genius Cast.”
UFC/MMA
- The UFC released the countdown special for Saturday’s PPV.
- Tyron Woodley thinks Darren Till being younger than him is the only advantage that Till has in their fight.
- Till said he’d like to earn his stripes at middleweight before challenging for the title when he moves up.
- Jarred Brooks is stepping in for Ryan Benoit and facing Roberto Sanchez on Saturday’s Fight Pass prelims.
- Chael Sonnen has been responding to Jon Jones after Jones called him “the worst trash talker.”
- Kayla Harrison wants to hold a major title in MMA by the end of 2019.
