  • Alexa Bliss reacted to the news that Bray Wyatt has been released by WWE: “I really am at a loss for words… thank you so much Windham for everything you’ve done for this company. The most fun I’ve had is working with you. Such an amazing talent & the most kind person. I’m just in shock.”
  • Adam Scherr (formerly known as Braun Strowman in WWE) tweeted a picture of him and Wyatt from last year and wrote: “Brother I’m waiting!!!!!!”
  • Mickie James tweeted about Wyatt’s release: “I think what you meant to say was: ‘Thank you so much for coming up with such an incredible gimmick(time & time again)one so cool & over, we really didn’t know how to book it right. So we just gave it to someone else so we can still make ALL the money off of it & let you go.’ This isn’t against Alexa. I love her. She’s an incredible performer who is killing it in a role she was given. She always does. We as artists take every role we’re given & turn it into gold. He, she, they both did that. Like it/not. Facts are facts. So sorry if that offends you.”
  • Sasha Banks tweeted: “He’s got the world in his hands [heart] @WWEBrayWyatt”
  • Renee Paquette wrote: “Mind. Blown. Excited to see him thrive in whatever he does next”

  • Code Orange, who did Wyatt’s theme music in WWE, responded to his release: “gotcha on the next one brother @WWEBrayWyatt”
  • 24/7 Champion Reginald is now going by the name “Reggie” on WWE TV. In an interview that WWE uploaded after last night’s SmackDown, Reggie gave a storyline explanation for how he got to WWE. Reggie said he isn’t from France and is actually from St. Louis, Missouri. Reggie said he saw a poster that Carmella needed a sommelier. He answered it because he’s a lifelong fan of WWE and his goal was to get his foot into the door with the company. Reggie said Carmella wanted him to speak French and speak with a French accent.
  • With Roman Reigns vs. John Cena being confirmed as the show’s main event, WWE revealed the official poster for SummerSlam.
  • Paige tweeted that she’s getting stronger and her neck is feeling awesome: “You guys I’m getting stronger squatting 185lbs again. I know it’s not a ton but it’s a big accomplishment for me who was worried to do any gym stuff because of my neck. But my neck is feeling so awesome. I’m so proud of myself”
  • Bret Hart responded to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson praising him in an interview with Screen Rant: “I appreciate the kind words. I hold @therock and his family in very high regard and it’s been inspiring to watch his hard earned success in wrestling, Hollywood, and beyond.”
  • Hart also sent his well wishes to Natalya after she underwent ankle surgery: “I’m wishing Natalya a speedy recovery after her ankle surgery yesterday, I’m looking forward to her carrying on the Hart Foundation tradition of reigning as WWE tag champions.”
  • Today is the 25th anniversary of Kurt Angle winning an Olympic gold medal with a broken neck. Angle wrote about the anniversary: “On this day 25 years ago, I won the Olympic Gold in freestyle wrestling. #withabrokenfreakinneck. No better way to spend my 25 year anniversary than with my beautiful family……My wife and kids said I should buy a boat now. We shall see #25yearsofgold #olympics #1996”
  • WWE has filed a trademark for “Bella Wine Matchups.”

  • Samoa Joe appeared on this week’s episode of WWE After the Bell.
  • WWE’s YouTube channel uploaded The Undertaker vs. Test from SummerSlam 2002, John Cena & The Primetime Players vs. Seth Rollins & New Day from the September 7, 2015 episode of Raw, and Umaga vs. Jeff Hardy for the Intercontinental title from Great American Bash 2007.

  • While appearing on Cincy 3:60 with Tony Pike, Jon Moxley responded to Domino’s Pizza’s statement that said they were assessing their advertising presence on Dynamite going forward: “Domino’s Pizza needs to chill out. They need to chill man. It was a coincidence. You know what? Jump on the bandwagon man. You don’t think Nick Gage can sell some pizzas for you? Come on. You know that the Noid is played out at this point and you’re bringing back the Noid? Come on.”
  • Nick Gage tweeted about the situation with Domino’s: “i tried to cut jerichos scalp off my bad TMZ it is what it is but yeah thanks aew and thanks all MDK gang members we showed em whats up and also sorry dominos didnt mean to offend you guess im too ultraviolent for tv oh well all my new fans come see me at GCW its MDK all fn day”
  • David Bixenspan reported that a mainstream reporter has privately claimed that WWE pitched them on writing an AEW/Domino’s story: “According to a screenshot shared with Babyface v. Heel, a reporter from a mainstream publication, in reaching out about the story, explicitly said that WWE had contacted them about writing a article on the Domino’s/AEW situation.”
  • Serena Deeb posted video of a promo where she said she’s still dealing with a knee injury.
  • ROH announced that Brandi Lauren and Laynie Luck are the alternates for their Women’s World Championship tournament. Lauren, who had been given the name Skyler Story in NXT, was released by WWE this May.
  • Chris Jericho interviewed The Bollywood Boyz on the latest episode of Talk is Jericho.
  • Mark Henry was the guest on this week’s edition of the AEW Unrestricted podcast.
  • Booker T uploaded part one of an interview with Will Ospreay.
  • Davey Richards vs. Josh Alexander is set for Next Generation Wrestling’s Uncivil War show in Knoxville, Tennessee on Sunday, August 29.
  • Fast Time Moodo will be Axel Tischer’s opponent at wXw’s 20th anniversary show on Saturday, August 7. Tischer (formerly known as Alexander Wolfe) is returning to the ring after being released by WWE this May.
