After becoming the talk of the professional wrestling world when he joined AEW at Double or Nothing, Jon Moxley took things up to another level when he appeared on Chris Jericho’s Talk is Jericho podcast last week.

While prefacing his comments with how grateful he was for his time in WWE, Moxley got years of frustration off his chest in the 90-plus minute podcast episode. The WWE creative process was his target, with Moxley saying that one of his goals in AEW is to prove that the process WWE uses sucks, is absolutely terrible, and is “killing the company.”

WWE

  • NXT is taping television at Full Sail University both tonight and tomorrow. We’ll have reports from the tapings up on the front page after each show.
  • In remembrance of the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting, WWE held 49 seconds of silence at today’s tapings. Today marked three years since the tragedy.
  • WWE had a number one contender’s match between Drew Gulak, Akira Tozawa, Humberto Carrillo, and Oney Lorcan on 205 Live last night, with the winner challenging for Tony Nese’s Cruiserweight Championship at Stomping Grounds on June 23. It ended in a double pin after Gulak and Tozawa both went for a cradle after Gulak gave Tozawa a superplex. WWE has yet to announce if it will be Nese vs. Gulak vs. Tozawa at Stomping Grounds, with commentary hyping that Drake Maverick had a decision to make.
  • The Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado) will face The Singh Brothers on next week’s 205 Live.
  • Stephanie McMahon said WWE has been promised that they’ll be part of the forefront of change that’s coming in Saudi Arabia. McMahon said she believes that they’ll have a women’s match there in the near future.
  • After the storyline on SmackDown where he was trapped in a loading crate while hiding and shipped to Raw, R-Truth posted a video from inside the crate and asked for help.
  • When asked by TMZ if The Undertaker and Goldberg should retire, John Cena said an individual’s career is up to that individual and noted that he’s had that same conversation with himself. Cena added that he feels good.

Pro Wrestling

  • The Daily Beast reported that Tyrus (formerly known as Brodus Clay in WWE) was kicked off of “Un-Pc” on Fox Nation after his co-host Britt McHenry filed a sexual harassment complaint against him. Tyrus now hosts his own Fox Nation show called “NUFFSAID.” The Daily Beast wrote that “the dispute centered around McHenry’s contention that Tyrus had, on multiple occasions, sent her unwanted and unsolicited text messages with lewd, sexual comments.” Fox News issued a statement saying that they consider the matter resolved: “While we are not at liberty to discuss the details of any employee matter, we follow strict protocols when matters such as these are brought to our attention, and we make no exceptions. The process works because of the extensive systems and measures we have instituted. This situation was independently investigated and we consider the matter resolved. We respect the confidentiality of all involved.”
  • MLW announced Austin Aries for their TV tapings at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, New York on July 25. Their announcement stated that “league officials are negotiating with an undisclosed wrestler” for Aries’ match.
  • Sumie Sakai vs. Karissa Rivera is set for ROH’s post-Best in the World TV tapings at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on July 29. This will be Sakai’s return after suffering a broken orbital bone at G1 Supercard.
  • Chris Van Vliet interviewed Shawn Spears (the former Tye Dillinger) about his decision to leave WWE.
  • Nacion Lucha Libre, which features Alberto El Patron, announced the card for their debut show. It will take place at Sala de Armas in Mexico City on July 11 and will be headlined by El Patron, El Hijo del Fantasma & Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. MVP, Apolo & Mesias. The promotion will air on ImagenTV in Mexico from 10:30 p.m. to midnight Central time on Saturdays starting on July 13.
  • Beyond Wrestling announced that Orange Cassidy will defend his Independent Championship against RD Evans at Americanrana 2019 at Foxwoods Resort and Casino Premier Ballroom in Connecticut on July 28.
  • TMZ reported that Joey Ryan and Laura James have filed for divorce.
  • The NWA uploaded a Dusty Rhodes vs. Gino Hernandez match from Houston Wrestling.

UFC/MMA

  • Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier took part in a press conference in London today. They’ll face off for the lightweight title at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi on September 7.
  • Nurmagomedov doesn’t think that Conor McGregor deserves a rematch against him: “The last three years he has only one victory and amateur boxing. How does he deserve a rematch? He tapped. He begged me, ‘Please don’t kill me.’ Now he’s talking about a rematch? Tony Ferguson [is] on the line. People who have win streaks [are] on the line. But not the guy who don’t win nothing the last three years. … Right now I’m focused on Sept. 7.”
  • Poirier explained why he thinks he’ll defeat Nurmagomedov: “Experience, self-belief, my mindset. I’m focused on making history, and that’s all I care about.”
  • Poirier also talked about how Nurmagomedov doesn’t have any huge holes in his game: “I don’t need to find huge holes (in his game) — the guy’s good, you know? I can’t sit up here and say anything bad about the guy — he’s good. He’s a world champ. But I’m going to make things happen in there and bring him to places he’s never been in there. So that’s just it.”
  • Ariel Helwani tweeted that a flyweight title fight between Valentina Shevchenko and Liz Carmouche is one option that’s been discussed for the main event of the UFC’s Fight Night show in San Antonio on July 20.
  • UFC fighter Macy Chiasson filed a lawsuit against her apartment complex owners and Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. after her apartment was destroyed by a crane collapsing over the weekend.
  • The prelims for UFC 238 averaged 964,000 viewers on ESPN this past weekend. That’s the best number the UFC has done in three months.
