Chris Jericho vs. Darby Allin set for next week’s AEW Dynamite

Darby Allin will get his shot at Chris Jericho’s AEW World title next week.

Allin defeated Jimmy Havoc on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite to get the title shot against Jericho. At the end of a hard-fought match, Allin bit Havoc’s hand, landed a stunner, and pinned Havoc with a Coffin Drop.

This will be Jericho’s first defense of the AEW World title. He defeated Hangman Page at All Out back on August 31 to become the first-ever champion. Jericho was a part of tonight’s program, revealing this his new stable with Jake Hager, Santana, Ortiz, and Sammy Guevara is called The Inner Circle.

Jericho is scheduled to defend his title against Cody Rhodes at AEW’s Full Gear pay-per-view on November 9. Allin and Cody went to a 20-minute time limit draw at Fyter Fest in June.

Allin has also built momentum ahead of the title defense, defeating CIMA last week in a match that was taped for AEW Dark, which aired for the first time last night.

Next week’s episode of Dynamite will take place at The Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
