Young Bucks Tag Team title defense, Riho’s return set for AEW Dynamite

The Young Bucks will defend the AEW Tag Team titles against Santana & Ortiz on next week’s live edition of Dynamite.

The match was made Wednesday when the Bucks were attempting to confront the Good Brothers backstage about their presence at the Beach Brawl battle royal. Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson turned it around and said the Bucks should be upset with Santana and Ortiz for eliminating Matt Jackson. They then brought up how Chris Jericho and MJF mocked them after eliminating Nick Jackson and their heat should be with the Inner Circle.

Matt said he was fired up and didn’t want to wait until the March 7th Revolution pay-per-view to defend the titles and said they would defend against Santana and Ortiz next week.

Jericho and MJF have a title shot awaiting them at Revolution by virtue of winning the aforementioned battle royale.

In another high profile match, the first-ever AEW Women’s Champion Riho will return to an AEW ring for the first time since last March when she faces NWA Women’s Champion Serena Deeb in a first round match of the Women’s title eliminator tournament. The former champion has been in Japan since the pandemic restricted travel between countries.

In other action announced for next week:

  • FTR (w/ Tully Blanchard) will face Matt and Mike Sydal in the latter Sydal’s AEW debut.
  • Fresh off their contract signing Wednesday, Hangman Page will team with new manager Matt Hardy and Private Party to take on the Hybrid2 and Chaos Project.
  • After Darby Allin was dragged in a body bag by Team Taz during a Sting interview, “The Icon” will return to call out his opponents for Revolution.
