World title defense set for week three of AEW TV


The AEW World Championship will be defended on the promotion’s third television episode.
AEW announced today that their first World title defense will take place at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, October 16. The wrestler who will be challenging for the title has yet to be revealed.
The winner of Chris Jericho vs. Hangman Page at All Out on August 31 will become the inaugural World Champion. Jericho and Page were set up as the wrestlers who would be vying for the title through their wins at Double or Nothing.
Jericho defeated Kenny Omega in the main event of Double or Nothing, while Page won the Casino Battle Royale on the pre-show.
AEW TV will premiere on TNT on October 2, with the show airing live weekly on Wednesdays from 8-10 p.m. Eastern time. The first episode is taking place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts is hosting the second episode.
Tickets for the Boston and Philadelphia episodes are going on sale this Friday at noon Eastern.
