Will Ospreay vs. MJF to kick off AEW Dynamite 250

International Champion Will Ospreay will defend his title against MJF in the opening contest of AEW Dynamite’s 250th episode on July 17.

MJF issued a challenge to Ospreay in a promo segment on this week’s Dynamite, and Ospreay quickly accepted the match. Ospreay called MJF out for his turn against Daniel Garcia on last week’s Dynamite, but commentary noted that MJF was not at the arena.

Instead, the challenger threw down the gauntlet for next week’s title bout in a promo from an undisclosed location that aired on the video wall.

A champion vs. champion match is also set for next week’s AEW Dynamite 250.

World Champion Swerve Strickland will face Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada in singles competition on next week’s episode. Strickland confirmed on Wednesday’s show that he will be part of Team AEW in the Blood & Guts match set for the July 24 Dynamite. Okada will also take part in Blood & Guts as part of Team Elite.

After Wednesday’s Dynamite went off the air, TBS Champion Mercedes Mone announced an open challenge for the TBS title for Dynamite 250, open to any competitor with the exception of Britt Baker:
