Will Ospreay to wrestle on this week’s AEW Rampage

After appearing in the show-closing angle on Wednesday’s Dynamite, Will Ospreay will wrestle on this week’s AEW Rampage episode.
Ospreay ran in to attack Kenny Omega as a wild brawl broke out following the Blackpool Combat Club vs. The Elite main event on Dynamite, a trios match won by The Elite.
The BCC jumped The Elite after the bout, but Eddie Kingston ran in to make the save. Konosuke Takeshita ran in to attack Kingston, then Omega ran in to attack Takeshita. As The Elite cleared the ring and Omega prepared for a dive, Ospreay attacked Omega and hit him with his Hidden Blade finisher to stand tall as the show closed. Ospreay was then announced as wrestling on Friday’s taped Rampage.
AEW’s Tony Khan later announced on Twitter that Ospreay will team with his NJPW United Empire faction mates Jeff Cobb & Kyle Fletcher against Rocky Romero, Trent Beretta, and Chuck Taylor of Best Friends/CHAOS in the match.
Ospreay is set to face Omega for the IWGP United States Championship in a Wrestle Kingdom rematch at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on Sunday, June 25 in Toronto.
A trios match with Jeff Jarrett, Karen Jarrett, and Jay Lethal vs. Mark Briscoe, Aubrey Edwards, and Papa Briscoe is also set for Friday’s Rampage, being taped tonight in Washington DC.
Khan also added a Takeshita vs. Bandido match to the Rampage lineup, announcing that match on Twitter as well.
A Taya Valkyrie vs. Trish Adora match was also taped for Friday’s episode.
The lineup for Friday’s Rampage airing at 10 p.m. Eastern time on TNT:
- Will Ospreay, Jeff Cobb & Kyle Fletcher vs. Trent Beretta, Chuck Taylor & Rocky Romero
- Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal & Karen Jarrett vs. Mark Briscoe, Papa Briscoe & Aubrey Edwards
