Will Ospreay set for final independent wrestling match

Before starting full-time with AEW, Will Ospreay will compete for Revolution Pro Wrestling one last time.

Ospreay will wrestle his last RevPro match at High Stakes 2024 on Sunday, February 18. He’s challenging Michael Oku for the RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship.

“We’ve been saying don’t take him for granted for a long time & now this is it,” RevPro wrote. “WILL OSPREAY’S LAST REVPRO MATCH & HE SAYS HE IS LEAVING WITH HIS PROPERTY.”

Ospreay confirmed that this will be his final independent wrestling match.

The match was set up last weekend when Ospreay issued a challenge to Oku at RevPro’s Uprising event.

At High Stakes nearly two years ago, Ospreay defeated Oku in one of the best matches of 2022. That match was rated five stars by Dave Meltzer and placed 10th in our Match of the Year voting.

Oku has been Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion since defeating Great-O-Khan in July 2023. Ospreay held the title from February 2020 to August 2022.

During last month’s Full Gear pay-per-view, it was revealed that Ospreay has signed a multi-year deal with AEW. Ospreay is still under NJPW contract until February 2024.

Ospreay is also set to wrestle for TNA Wrestling at the company’s television tapings in Las Vegas on Sunday, January 14.

RevPro High Stakes 2024 is taking place from Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London. Former WWE wrestler Mustafa Ali has also been announced for the show, facing Robbie X.
