WBD claims CM Punk ‘not affiliated’ with AEW Collision

Warner Bros Discovery is denying that CM Punk is affiliated with AEW Collision.
Punk was not mentioned in a press release announcing the new show earlier today. However, his name did appear in an email WBD later sent to media regarding today’s upfronts.
The headline for the AEW Collision announcement in the email included Punk’s name along with Andrade El Idolo, Thunder Rosa, Miro and others. The link directs to today’s press release which does not mention Punk.
Comicbook.com reached out to WBD regarding the email and was told “CM Punk is not affiliated with TNT’s AEW Collision.”
WBD's press release headline for the AEW Collision announcement originally mentioned CM Punk and other wrestlers, which you can see in the cached listing (left) before it was edited (right).

Fightful Select would provide an update on the situation shortly after. According to their report, the decision to remove Punk’s name from the press release was made recently and there are still plans for him to return to AEW. The outlet was told there are “active content plans with Punk as of this week.” It was also noted that Punk himself did not want to be mentioned in the original AEW Collision announcement.
