Wardlow wins Face of the Revolution ladder match at AEW Revolution

Wardlow won tonight’s Face of the Revolution ladder match at AEW Revolution, earning a future TNT title match later this month.

The finish of the match had Wardlow fight Ricky Starks on top of the ladder. Starks had his hands on the brass ring, but Wardlow was able to transition into a powerbomb, sending Starks onto another ladder below. Wardlow then grabbed the ring and won the match.

Other participants in the match included Powerhouse Hobbs, Christian Cage, Keith Lee, and Orange Cassidy.

With the victory, Wardlow will get a TNT Championship match on the March 16th episode of AEW Dynamite. He will face the winner of the TNT title match between champion Sammy Guevara and Scorpio Sky that will take place on this coming Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite.

In recent months, tension has been building between MJF and Wardlow, with MJF reminding Wardlow that he works for him, not for AEW. On last week’s Dynamite, MJF told Wardlow that he would let Wardlow keep the TNT title if he won, but also said he didn’t think he’d actually win. After Wardlow told him it was only because he was making sure MJF won his matches, MJF slapped Wardlow and threatened to fire him.
