VIDEO: Cody Rhodes/Shawn Spears angle at C*4 Fighting Back 9

An angle with Cody Rhodes and Shawn Spears took place at C*4 Wrestling Fighting Back 9 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on Friday night.

After Cody & MJF faced TDT (Mathieu St-Jacques & Thomas Dubois) on the show, Spears made a surprise appearance and attacked MJF as he was heading to the back. Spears then brawled with Cody.

Spears raked Cody’s eyes and went to give him a chair shot, but MJF recovered and took the chair away. Spears avoided Cross Rhodes and tried to leave the ring, then TDT brought him back in and they all beat him up, with Cody teasing a chair shot.

Cody vs. Spears is set for AEW’s All Out pay-per-view in Hoffman Estates, Illinois on Saturday, August 31. Tully Blanchard will be managing Spears, and Cody will be allowed to have one person in his corner.

C*4’s Fighting Back show is a charity event to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Phrank Morin, who was wrestling for C*4 and passed away from cancer at 23 years old in 2011. It was created — among others — by C*4 promoter Mark Pollesel, Evil Uno, and Stu Grayson, who were all close friends to Morin. They have raised over $200,000 in eight years so far. Last night, they added $50,238 to that.
