Two title matches announced for Friday’s AEW Rampage

Two title matches will be featured on this Friday’s AEW Rampage from Newark, New Jersey.
In one, new AEW Tag Team Champions The Lucha Brothers will defend for the first time when they take on no. 1 contenders and former stablemates The Butcher & The Blade.
This was set up with a video promo Wednesday on Dynamite. Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix won the titles by defeating the Young Bucks in a steel cage match at All Out while Butcher and Blade are 2-0 since Butcher returned from a long layoff due to injury. They are undefeated as a team this year.
The TNT title will be on the line as Miro will defend the gold against Fuego Del Sol for a second time. They squared off on the first Rampage with Miro picking up a win that denied Del Sol an AEW contract as part of a pre-match stipulation. However, Del Sol was given a contract after the match by Sammy Guevara via Tony Khan.
The rematch was made Wednesday when Guevara and Del Sol were talking about the latter’s new car thanks to that new contract. He decided to put the car on the line in order to get the opportunity.
Also on the show, Anna Jay will take on the Bunny in the latest chapter of the rivalry that has included Tay Conti and Penelope Ford.
The matches will be taped following Wednesday’s Dynamite.
Here’s the lineup:
