Tony Khan: ‘It would be great’ if AEW vs. WWE supershow was possible

Tony Khan likes the idea of an AEW vs. WWE supershow, but it doesn’t sound like a realistic possibility at this point in time.

While being interviewed by TJ Jefferson of the Rich Eisen Show, Khan was asked if he could ever see AEW and WWE coming together for a supershow. Khan said he would love if that could happen, but there are “a lot of challenging business things” that make it difficult to do.

“I would love if that were possible. I don’t know that it is, but it would be great if it was possible for the fans,” Khan said. “I think that would be wonderful. But there are a lot of challenging business things in the world of pro wrestling that I think would make that a very challenging thing to do.”

Though working with AEW may be unlikely, WWE has become less isolationist under the Nick Khan and Paul “Triple H” Levesque regime, forming relationships with TNA Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH.

AEW has close partnerships with NJPW, CMLL, and Stardom. Those promotions were all involved with Forbidden Door 2024 last month.
