Tony Khan ‘big announcement,’ Swerve vs. Hangman set for next AEW Dynamite

Tony Khan “will make a big announcement,” plus Hangman Page faces Swerve Strickland in a number one contender’s match on next week’s AEW Dynamite. 

AEW’s commentary team plugged the “big announcement” coming from the promotion’s owner, CEO, GM, and head of creative on next week’s show throughout this week’s episode. 

A number one contender’s match between Strickland & Page was set during the closing segment of this week’s Dynamite. The winner of the bout will face Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship at Revolution on Sunday, March 3. 

Strickland defeated Rob Van Dam in a Dealer’s Choice match in the main event, and Page beat Toa Liona in a Dealer’s Choice match earlier in Wednesday’s episode.

Another new match is also set for the February 7 Dynamite, with CMLL’s Mistico, Volador Jr. & Hechicero facing Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli. Moxley was jumped by CMLL stars on this week’s Dynamite after defeating Jeff Hardy. 

Already announced for next week’s Dynamite are Ricky Starks & Big Bill vs. Sting & Darby Allin for the AEW Tag Team titles, plus Chris Jericho vs. Konosuke Takeshita.
