Tony Khan announces return of AEW rankings

AEW’s rankings are making a comeback.

On Saturday evening, Tony Khan announced on X that the rankings would be making a comeback, starting this month.

“The Rankings are coming back to AEW going forward, starting this month! @AEW is having a very exciting January, and this is only the beginning of an amazing 2024 for AEW and our fans. Thank you all watching Saturday Night #AEWCollision right now on @TNTdrama!,” Khan wrote.

Shortly after Tony Khan’s post on X, Tony Schiavone also announced the return of the rankings during the main event of Collision between Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston & Ortiz.

When the promotion started in 2019, AEW had a top-5 rankings for men, women, and men’s tag teams. However, they moved away from the rankings system in August of 2022, last updating them on August 31. In October of that year, Khan told Comicbook.com that he was “re-evaluating” the rankings system but mentioned he could bring them back soon.
