Swerve Strickland vs. Roderick Strong World title match added to AEW Dynamite

A match for the AEW World Championship has been added to Wednesday’s Dynamite.
After Roderick Strong defeated Lio Rush on Collision, he stormed over to Tony Khan backstage, who was with Christopher Daniels. Strong said that after defeating Rush, he wanted a shot at Swerve Strickland so he could be the one defending the AEW World Championship at Forbidden Door. Khan agreed to the title match for Wednesday’s show in Loveland, Colorado.
Ospreay was the one who defeated Strong at Double or Nothing last weekend to win the International title for the first time. On Dynamite, he proceeded to win a Casino Gauntlet match that earned him the right to face the AEW World Champion at Forbidden Door on June 30.
Kris Statlander also revealed on Collision that she would be in action “next week,” but didn’t specify which show she would be wrestling on.
The card so far for the Wednesday, June 5 AEW Dynamite in Loveland, Colorado:
- AEW World Championship: Swerve Strickland defends against Roderick Strong
- MJF returns to Dynamite
- Saraya vs. Mariah May
