Swerve Strickland signs new AEW contract

Swerve Strickland has agreed to a new contract with All Elite Wrestling.

Strickland was shown signing the deal on today’s AEW All In Zero Hour pre-show. Length and terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Strickland revealed in an interview earlier this week that he was in a “re-negotiation” period.

“Me winning the AEW World Championship was like phase 2, that was the beginning of phase 2 of my career. Right now, I’m in the midst of a re-negotiation stage because I’m really enjoying my status here in AEW. I’m enjoying everything about the locker room, the roster, the talent, the promotion. I love the fact that I’m a really big part of building the company to different avenues,” he said to Barstool Sports.

Strickland debuted in AEW at Revolution 2022. He was released from WWE in November 2021 after having been with the company since April 2019.

Strickland is scheduled to defend his AEW World Championship against Bryan Danielson tonight at AEW All In. Live coverage from the show is available here.
