Swerve Strickland, MJF taking time off after AEW All Out angles

Both Swerve Strickland and MJF will be taking time off after injury angles at AEW All Out.
Hangman Page stuck Strickland in the mouth with a hypodermic needle and delivered a chair shot to his head in the closing moments of their cage match on Saturday. The angle was done to write him off AEW programming.
“I heard a long time ago that Swerve was going to sign the contract and he was going to get some time off, for whatever reason, and this was the angle,” our own Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.
“I thought Swerve would at least stay for Tacoma—maybe that’s when he’ll come back,” Meltzer continued, referring to AEW WrestleDream on October 12.
Despite having each been powerbombed onto a cinder block during their match, Strickland and Page told people backstage they were fine.
“When they got to the back, they appeared to be fine. They told everybody they were fine. I don’t know how. I don’t know how you can be fine after that powerbomb onto a cinder block,” said our own Bryan Alvarez. “That’s a risk you don’t need to take. It’s absolutely nuts to do this stuff but for those people wondering, apparently, they said they were fine.”
Daniel Garcia gave MJF a low blow and a piledriver from the second rope after their match at AEW All Out, similarly writing him off AEW programming.
“He didn’t lose but he ended up getting taken out and it’s an injury angle and he’s going to be gone for a while,” Meltzer said on MJF.
There is no timetable for either wrestler’s return.
