‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey debuts on AEW Dynamite, officially signs contract

Mike Bailey

“Speedball” Mike Bailey is officially #AllElite after making his promotional debut during Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

Bailey picked up a victory over The Beast Mortos, making a surprise appearance as the sole wild card in the International title eliminator tournament. He picked up the victory after hitting a spinning crescent kick for the pin.

He advances to a four-way on next Wednesday’s Dynamite with the winner challenging reigning International Champion Kenny Omega at next month’s Dynasty pay-per-view.

Shortly afterward, AEW head Tony Khan made the signing official:

The 34-year-old Bailey wrapped up a multi-year run in TNA Wrestling last November and had been rumored to be heading to AEW after news broke that he was going to free agency. Three weeks ago, a Bailey vignette aired on Collision, heralding his arrival.

The match was the Canadian’s first since an early-December 2024 match in Deadlock Pro Wrestling.

It was their first meeting since being on opposite sides of a TNA tag team match in 2023.
