Semifinals set for men’s AEW Owen Hart Foundation tournament

The semifinals are now set for the men’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament.

Powerhouse Hobbs, Ricky Starks, and Samoa Joe all advanced on Saturday’s Collision. Hobbs defeated Dustin Rhodes after a spear. Starks defeated Robinson. After the match, the best of Bullet Club Gold circled around Starks, but CM Punk and FTR came out to even up the odds.

In the last quarterfinal match, Joe defeated Roderick Strong via referee stoppage after Strong passed out from the coquina clutch. After the match, Joe had a staredown with Punk, who was at ringside for commentary. Joe re-entered the ring and laid out Strong with an emerald flowsion onto a steel chair. The show ended with Strong being stretchered out.

The semfinals will take place on next week’s Collision. Hobbs will face Starks while Joe will face Punk, who was the first to advance to the semifinals after defeating Satoshi Kojima at Forbidden Door last Sunday.

In the women’s tournament, a match between Britt Baker and Ruby Soho will take place at this Wednesday’s Dynamite to determine that tournament’s semifinals. Originally scheduled for this week’s Dynamite, the match was moved back after Baker became ill.
