Scorpio Sky wins TNT Championship on AEW Dynamite

Scorpio Sky is the new TNT Champion.
Sky defeated Sammy Guevara in the main event of tonight’s AEW Dynamite to win the TNT title. With the victory, Sky becomes the first AEW competitor to have held both the TNT and the AEW World Tag Team titles.
Guevara suffered a storyline rib injury in the bout after hitting a 450 splash off the top rope through a table to the floor. Later, Sky got his knees up on a shooting star press, then hit a TKO to pin Guevara and win the title.
The TNT title bout also included a run-in by Tay Conti, who tended to the injured Guevara. Sky’s Men of the Year partner Ethan Page attempted to distract Guevara during the match, but Conti intervened. Paige VanZant then jumped the railing and neutralized Conti, allowing Sky to hit the TKO.
Guevara’s second TNT title reign ends at 43 days after four successful defenses.
Sky will have his first title defense on next week’s St. Patrick’s Day Slam Dynamite episode, taking on Face of the Revolution ladder match winner Wardlow.
Wardlow announced during Dynamite that while he is still under contract to MJF, he no longer cares what MJF says and is his own man now.
Next week’s Dynamite will have two title matches. In addition to the TNT title bout, Britt Baker will defend the AEW Women’s World title against Thunder Rosa in a steel cage match.
Also announced for next week’s Dynamite, Adam Cole will team with Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly against Hangman Page, Jungle Boy, and Luchasaurus.
