Santana injured during AEW Blood & Guts match

Santana was injured during tonight’s Blood and Guts main event on Dynamite.

When it was Santana’s turn to enter the match, he quickly went after Daniel Garcia. Santana went for a uranage, but his leg positioned awkwardly upon landing and fell to the floor. He spent the rest of his time in the match near the cage, talking to referees. Towards the end of the match, he was taken out of the cage and helped to the back.

Santana’s team, which included Eddie Kingston, Claudio Castagnoli, Ortiz, and Wheeler Yuta, defeated the Jericho Appreciation Society after Castagnoli was given the win after submitting Matt Menard with the sharpshooter while Kingston had Jericho tapping out with the stretch plum. The two showed dissension after the match, but the show ended with everyone on the team minus Santana posing on top of the cage.

Prior to tonight’s Blood & Guts match, Santana’s last match was at Double or Nothing, where he, Kingston, Ortiz, and the Blackpool Combat Club lost to the Jericho Appreciation Society in an Anarchy in the Arena match.
